Liverpool v Saints - Match thread

Absolute beaut of a save from Boruc. Wow. And arguably we've been a little lucky with the ref, though I agree it wasn't a penalty. Lallana fantastic. Ossie's big moment is close, surely. The move ending with Clyne's volley back across the area was superb. I thought Wanyama overall strong despite the frustration of some underhit passes. But Cork for Wanyama on the 60th minute would be interesting to see. Our pressing game is driving them crazy. We look strong. Saints goal will be explosive celebration here in New York city (where it's the lead game live on NBC Sports.)

Decent first half, but apart from Osvaldo our front 4 aren't doing anything and Wanyama, while he is offering decent protection really doesn't look technically capable enough for the PL right now, too many stray passes and takes far too much time to decide what he wants to do with the ball when he gets it.

Wanyama is very raw, because we spent so much money on him I kind of forget how inexperienced he is. I think Cork should be starting, he's just a more composed player. Let VW work his way back into the team like all other young players. He has so much potential though.

Lallana is like a different player this season. Clyne excellent. Final ball is lame as usual.

We sometimes loose the shape of the formation and looks like 4-2-4 with Liverpool getting the chance to counterattack on us, at their place.

Fullbacks at times all alone against 1 or 2 Liverpool players which always going to be dangerous. Hopefully they make the choice to cut off the inside and letting them to take the outside if they want to go by cause I dont think Moses crossing with his left is as dangerous as when he cuts inside....

Two pretty even teams at halftime, Liverpool with the slightly better final third but anywhere else on the pitch it´s even...

I do agree with this. Isn't Wanyama only 21 still? The quality of opposition he's facing week in week out will be a bit of a shock to him, but he'll settle soon enough.

that is true

it is quite funny at how disgusted so many celtic fans were that he went to us and that he would walk straight into a top 4 side

clearly not
