Noodles34 Posted 20 September, 2013 Share Posted 20 September, 2013 Those with an iPad or iPhone have probably updated their software now, but a lot of people are not happy with the new graphics. Personally, I am not keen on the new animated icons but some of the features work better, like a quick bar to turn off wifi and Bluetooth. I also like the new way of retuning to open apps and seeing what you were on, or indeed closing them by swiping rather than hitting the red - spot. Why they do not have a visual alert when you have a message or missed call when the phone is in sleep mode, bloody annoying for those who leave their phones in the hall etc. Any tips on any other new things the upgrade has bought us? tony13579 Posted 20 September, 2013 Share Posted 20 September, 2013 What about the finger print security feature....? Can other people answer the phone? Can you authorise a second set of dabs?
Barry the Badger Posted 21 September, 2013 Share Posted 21 September, 2013 What I don't understand is the people whinging about the look of it. It's not like it was a secret and they didn't HAVE to upgrade immediately. Oh look, there's a screenshot and I hate it, when that's released I'm going to upgrade to it straight away so I can really moan about how much I hate it. Colinjb Posted 21 September, 2013 Share Posted 21 September, 2013 A vast improvement. Brought in that key feature from Android (flick the screen to access wifi/bluetooth) that was sorely needed. Looks nice and contemporary, glad it's no longer quite so 'skeuomorphic.'
Weston Super Saint Posted 21 September, 2013 Share Posted 21 September, 2013 It's terrible. My iPad is now an android device. Not only that but most of the apps I have installed haven't been updated, so don't work properly which is annoying. Also the notifications don't update between devices like they used to. E.G I have googlemail app on iPad and on my Samsung phone. Previously when I deleted unwanted mails from my phone - let's face it it is MUCH easier / quicker to delete from the phone with a brief swipe - the notification would also disappear from the iPad app. Since the update this is no longer happening and I'm left with 'new mail' notifications until I open the app and it refreshes itself. I used to like the way the apple devices / OS 'just worked' with no fuss and no hassle. Right now, it's more a case of just 'not' working. I do like some of the new features, but until they fix the little glitches it gets a 4/10 from me.
