Anyone not be happy with 0-0 at Liverpool?

We need to start scoring some goals, so no but would be happy with a score draw.

So would a 4-3 defeat be better than 0-0?

Personally I'd take a 0-0

Me (though I'd prefer 0-0 to losing, naturally)

My reasoning is if we cant win against bus-parkers at home, and cant win against teams that come at us and play, the question arises where our wins are going to come from..

Also, Suarez and Coutinho are missing

I see where you're coming from, but would argue this doesn't really apply to top of the table away from home. For me, this reasoning applies to playin those 'bus Parkersburg' away (e.g Norwich) and the teams that play (e.g Liverpool) at st Mary's.

Just you wait until we play the big teams.

If its going to be a draw I would prefer some goals and a score draw, although obviously a point away to Liverpool would be very good. I actually think we will play well and win. Some will then start talking of Europe again, only to come crashing back down to earth next week when we don't beat Palace.

FFS people, we are going to win! Why don't you believe this?

I think there is a chance too.

I have a feeling Ramirez, despite my ambivalence about him, will play from the start and do well.

I have a feeling Osvaldo is due an arsehole-ripping of someone

Lawro has predicted a comfortable Liverpool win

If we had to draw I'd prefer a 2-2, with us scoring 1st and last so that we could have 2 mental celebrations in the stands!!

Even better, would be that warm little feeling that I have of us sneaking a win, as The Once Again Mighty Liverpool fall for the Top of The League Hype and come out flat against us both on and off the pitch expecting to walk all over us.

I would take 0-0 as a terrible result. Any result with a '0' in the away column will be unacceptable.

We need to start taking the chances we create, Liverpool will be attacking us at home and will leave gaps as a result. A score draw, acceptable. A win.... well, naturally. A goalless draw will however just further highlight the issues we are currently having in front of goal and show we have not made progress in solving them.

I would grab a 0-0 now, they are a better side than us, have been playing better than us have been scoring goals and are top of the League. We cant score and have failed to open up any side home or away from open play or even get behind the back line.

Lets keep this level headed at least please.

Yeah I know where Alpine's coming from too, but it's a place I certainly do want to go to.

This. A draw would be a good result but would much prefer it to be a score draw with Osvaldo getting off the mark.

0-0 away at Liverpool is a great result. Madness to suggest otherwise.

I'd prefer it to a 2-2 (although not in entertainment terms, obviously), as I'm more happy with our new found defensive solidity than I am concerned about lack of goals from open play. We have created enough chances, hit the post enough times, denied by enough good saves to suggest we will start putting a few away soon enough.

Perhaps not scoring bucketloads, but you don't need to score bucketloads if you keep a clean sheet most games.

We should be beating teams like Liverpool home or away, these are the sort of games we need to win.

Christ tonight

Any point there is a good point but purely for entertainment purposes I hope there are some goals. We need them.

I would take a point at Liverpool, but only if we got all 3 against Palace.

So you'd have to offer me two results rather than just the one. A point would be a good result at Anfield, but as has been put already, we have a chance to win this, but all the players, especially the strikers, need to click.

Yeah, I'd be outraged if we got a 0-0 at Anfield.

Against the team currently top of the league.

Where United lost a few weeks ago.

Would be an awful result FFS.

We have the most delusional fans in the Country right now I think, we honestly think we are a team to be reckoned with, what the **** we have done to give ourselves this title is beyond me but hey ho, two late goals wiht one from a penalty and a header from a free kick from a centre back does not inspire.

Lets try to be honest.

No more delusional than you claiming that "we have the most delusional fans in the country". Check any teams websites and they will all have numpties predicting their team will win regardless.

Liverpool haven't been busting the net either. 3 x 1-0 wins, plus 2 Jonjo Shelvey assists, is not exactly Total football.

The premier league has had a low key start this season all-round, no team yet fully up to speed and a strange paucity of goals. 0-0 would be a fine result based on our form lately.

Got a feeling the Arse will be a real force again this year. Saints could be a surprise package but it ain't happening at the moment in attack.

The we have a better team than Arsenal and Everton claims have dried up recently I see, I wonder why?

I agree there are delusional blends on every site but we have more Star Trek fans on this football board than any other I have seen and can imagine.

The thing is, any sensible person that read that thread could see it was about one person that said it.

You and Turkish may try and use that to say "all saints fans/the whole of TSW" are deluded, but it really doesn't quite work like that.

I think it's really brilliant that we can have three separate Liverpool build-up threads all running on the main board at the same time.

How dare you call my fellow fans and my good self delusional:x

The posters and Saints fans:) most down to earth set of fans in the land:D

The mighty Saints to win 3-1or even 4-1 and march towards our promised place in Europe.:p

Ok then people believe we are going to be pushing for Europe in the next seaosn or two, who is going to slip? Spurs, Liverpool? Sorry chuckling to myself writing this, it aint going to happen.

Considering there's been very little entertainment on offer in the first four games, a 0-0 doesn't sound particularly enjoyable.

However, as a good away point it's probably not to be sniffed at.

Without the drama of either trying to get promoted or avoid relegation, I find myself far more impatient when the games are of mediocre quality as they have been recently. Is this what mid-table comfort is like? If you could temporarily suspend the partisan emotion of the average Everton or Fulham fan mid-game, would most up and go home at half time out of boredom?

Who though Barry, as that thread that has been dragged up again shows, there were abut 2 people that thought that. Far from the brigade you try and tell us there is, isn't it?

The only deluded person here is you pal.

the thread is who wouldn't be happy with 0-0? surely everyone? the only reason there is any debate is because most on here seem to think it inevitable we go to anfield and lose. there are other possibilities, e.g. we win. if, after 70 minutes into the game and we have been battered all ends sideways from the first minute, and it is still 0-0, then yes, i would be happy to come back with a 0-0. we haven't kicked off yet. we could go there and totally dominate them, as a few posters on the lfc web page seem to be worried about, and then everyone wolud be annoyed to 'only' get a 0-0. football isn't played on paper you know. have faith. PMA, it works!

Now that's fu.cking funny! I definitely imagine Matt Le Rainman etc. as trekkies in full saints kits.
