The former Derby County, Southampton and Stoke City defender was approached by the team's manager Allen Bula, who is also his uncle, via Twitter, and was asked to talk 'privately' about the possibilty of representing the British Overseas territory. thefuriousb Posted 18 September, 2013 Posted 18 September, 2013 The fact that he qualifies through a Spanish mother is interesting considering their claim to the territory. If Spanish-born people qualify, the argument for it to be a British overseas territory with self-determination secured under UN statute is weakened.

The Express stated it was his Spanish mother who allowed him to qualify, which upset the natives as you can imagine
