You all seem to be remarkably flippant about the deaths of twelve people.

It's an unfortunate reality that when something terrible happens with such regularity, it fails to shock anymore.

The headline on USA today simply reads "Again"

The Telegraph (yes I know) had a good point: there's no point in limiting gun access as guns are so prevalent in the US. People will just get them on the black market.

That's a retarded view, you can buy guns on the black market in the UK but people are not dying in mass shootings all over the place.

It will take time but they have to start phasing out this bizarre gun culture they have in the US. The harder it is for criminals to get guns, the less people will die. It's just common sense.

Guns do not kill, it is the person holding the gun that kills. If guns were not available many would find and use something else

Sorry for the retarded point of view. However you cannot compare gun ownership in the US and the UK. It is a completely different culture. You also cannot argue that it would be far, far more difficult to get guns off the street in the US.

I believe in gun control in any country (I feel the UK laws are too relaxed, not to mention most US states), and you're right that it should be phased out, but it would be nigh on impossible. Not to mention the fact that anyone who tried it would be voted out of office.

Quite right. However, a person intent on mass killing would find it harder to kill so many in one go with any other weapon before being overwhelmed.

Possibly, but you'd have to be more determined. With a simple hand gun you can casually fire a couple rounds of in a second, that's two fatals in a second & from a safe distance. With any other weapon, lets's say a knife, you've got to be within striking distance & the kill rate would be a lot less.

I agree that it would be difficult to change their gun culture but that's no reason not to try. Any move to make machine guns less accessible to nut jobs would save some lives.
