SNSUN Posted 15 September, 2013 Share Posted 15 September, 2013 A few decent performances but overall not good enough. I'd bet on a draw so my consolation prize is cash, but 3 points would've been sweeter. Morgan, Shaw and Lovren were the better players. Wanyama improved as the game went on but his close control is lacking. He looks better when he doesn't have to think about a pass. As for Osvaldo, it's obvious the man has quality but not enough went his way today. He'll have better days, they all will.

BlakeySFC Posted 15 September, 2013 Share Posted 15 September, 2013 Thought the lads put in a decent shift today. Thought Wanyama was decent, as was Morgan, Shaw, Fonte and Lovren. Jay-Rod, Osvaldo and Lallana extremely wasteful at times (particularly Osvaldo in front of goal) I expected it to be a draw before the match, so wasn't overly dissappointed, it could've easily gone the other way had Collins turned in that great chance they had near the end. The build up play wasn't bad, but we've got to find a way to break teams down, we're unbelievably wasteful in the final 3rd its unreal. Jay Rod in the first half running in from the left into the box, had Lambert, Osvaldo, Lallana and Morgan in the box instead tried to go round the WHU defender and got tackled. C'est La Vie. Barry Sanchez Posted 15 September, 2013 Share Posted 15 September, 2013 Puncheon was dreadful yesterday, not at all what we need Options are what we need, we had no ideas how to break down a poor clogger team today, how much have we spent to contain such a clogger side? Will the great lego head be happy?

S-Clarke Posted 15 September, 2013 Share Posted 15 September, 2013 Their keeper was MoM Suggesting not being able to break down a team is wide of the mark. Finishing chances was On another day we'd have got a couple, it's just not happening in front of goal for us at the moment. The 2nd half was more like it though, much more zippy with the ball in and around the final third. It frustrates me so much to see us play with such slowness as we did in the 1st half, that's not a lack of pace....it's just a lack of thought, they looked half a sleep for 45mins. ToreSF Posted 15 September, 2013 Share Posted 15 September, 2013 We were decent enough. Osvaldo, Lambert and Rodriguez should and cold've scored. West Ham created very little. We have potential to have a nice season.
