Whitey Grandad Posted 20 December, 2008 Share Posted 20 December, 2008 you could add many others to that list.He still is being asked to play up front alone and as we are not scorting goals he is shopuldering the blame. We did not create much for him to latchj on to. Why would more support improve his first touch? If he can't control the ball then we will always lose posession.
Mr X Posted 20 December, 2008 Share Posted 20 December, 2008 I used to think people on this thread were giving McG a hard time for no reason, but after the performance he put in today I'm not so sure, he was non existent
OldNick Posted 20 December, 2008 Share Posted 20 December, 2008 If I see any of those players out tonight, then I think I'll be chinning the fccukers, let alone booing them. If they take the money, then they should be prepared to take the stick. I've had a fcculking gut full of all this pussy footing around, particularly when he's on the OS telling us how happy he is with his performances and how he's turned the corner. Fccujk off has he. And if by sheer chance Jan Poortvliet is having tapas at Langkawi, then I'll be inserting the chicken satay up his ar553. Stop blaming the long suffering fans and a have a fukkucing closer look at what's making them all get so wound up!!!Um I know you didnt mean too, but in this evening where Im really narked this post really made me smile. Thanks Ump I am feeling a lot better.I can feel the passion and if you and me were on the pitch those lads would be working al ot harder as in our own ways we'd motivate them that they would nt dare not lose. brmbrm Posted 20 December, 2008 Share Posted 20 December, 2008 I liked seeing the ground 3quarters full today ......... Did you see how full it was at 89 minutes? The people who left and the "customers" who won't be coming back. assuming you were there of course. It was shameful how the fans booed him.. How very dare you. These people have given up £15 each and half a day of their lives to see that? How many enjoyed it? How many admired his masterful "first touch", whihc leaves the ball bobbling 2 yards away, or his "deft passing and flicks" which give the ball away. Won't mention his shooting since i am sure even you would agree its a total joke, The lad is expected to play up front on his own against 3 defenders who were more experienced. Only in the system your chosen manager plays, not the same system a 99% of the crowd or even the sentient population of the planet.

No worries. And although an animated manager may not be everyones cup of tea, at one point I was willing to go and nut Poortvliet and tell him to get his hands out of his pockets and start showing some passion on the sidelines. He was as lame as what was out on that pitch. And about as inspring as Captain Mainwaring's briefings!!!!!

Our players dont argue just give the ref aqn easy ride , much like a load of schoolboys would
ottery st mary Posted 20 December, 2008 Share Posted 20 December, 2008 If it helps, there are some poor sods who used to Manage at Woolworths stores and now looking for work, who could manage at the Saints, to the same level as Lowey and his coaching team. Before you start, my relative is in that position and when I asked him, he said nickh is the man for the job, as he is the only one, who would not chin Lowey after 2 minutes. beatlesaint Posted 20 December, 2008 Share Posted 20 December, 2008 (edited) Well nickh i am one of the 14k hardcore who you think has been fantastic this season, so thanks for that. And because i fall into that elite grouping I'm sure you wont mind me saying that McGoldrick is f*ckin useless and possibly the worst centre forward in this league by a country mile. He plays for himself, he thinks he is a hell of a lot better than he is, he scuffs the ball instead of shooting properly, is crap in the air and does not chase back if he isnt in the mood. Why this guy was not dropped weeks ago is beyond me but after the Palace game and today he should not even be in the squad Boxing day never mind on the bloody pitch. He might have potential to get better. But at the moment, agreed, he is absolute garbage. not just the worst striker, but worst player in the league. In the first half he had three attempted shots, missed the ball completely once and only just managed to scuff it twice. What really ****ed me off, was his attempted backheel to the only defender when we were two on one and through on goal Why was he on his own? Partly because the other showboater, was underperforming and doing his usual wandering all over the place, allowing the left side of their defence to reinforce the middle. Always too little, too late. No runs either decoy or attacking has become his trademark. Only interested when he has the ball.

The instant we get rid of the "showboater" will will be better, not good but better; I have yold you all many many times that HE is our problem but he has to keep on getting picked because his price tag will go into freefall if he doesn't. Doubt if anyone wants him now anyway, we should have taken the xx million that Fulham offered in August, we'd be far far far better off if we had. Might have been able to keep John or at least get someone who can ******* well shoot and take a corner in.Lallana is crap, overated, overhyped crap. It worked with Theo, we got about 11 million for him in the end, Lowe thought we could do it again, trouble is Lallana can't kick the ball any better than a 12 year old. Elmore Posted 21 December, 2008 Share Posted 21 December, 2008 I can't believe it's taken you all so long! It was obvious he was shocking at a fully competitive level when we played Mansfield away in the cup 3 or 4 years ago. This was when he was 17 years old and making his first first-team appearance? I think he needs to be dropped as his performances don't warrant a first team place at the moment. I think he had bags of potential, but now he has finally been given the chance to cement a first-team place, he has not put the effort in. That is unacceptable as he still has to prove himself to be a good player. His reputation as a prolific youth striker counts for nothing.
West End Saint Posted 22 December, 2008 Share Posted 22 December, 2008 I said on this thread that I thought DMG had the makings of a decent player I have to hold my hands up and say he was utter gash saturday like so many of our players he flaters to decieve very disapointed
slickmick Posted 22 December, 2008 Share Posted 22 December, 2008 Notts Forest's defence was as nervous and shaky as hell for the first 15 mins, but as soon as they realised how little a threat DMG and Lallana were, they grew in confidence and thats where the game was lost. January we have John and Saga back from loan spells, lets hope we use them.

He thinks he's made it because he's got a contract and he's playing every week. In reality he needs to do a lot of work to even make it as a Championship player and he doesn't seem to want to do put any effort in. If he carries on like this he will be playing in League two in a couple of seasons.
slickmick Posted 22 December, 2008 Share Posted 22 December, 2008 I wonder if Crouch had been in charge, would he have brought Leroy Lita in and paid towards his wages ? I believe he would have been the difference between staying up or going down. But then again I have a good feeling that John and Saga could be our saviours, as they were in our last game of the season against Sheff Utd. But he'll have a couple of flash motors and a big house and money in the bank for life so what the f**k does he care. Even at 3K a week you can put a lot of money aside in 3 years.Unless you start the scourge of UK sport-gambling.
Give it to Ron Posted 22 December, 2008 Share Posted 22 December, 2008 We don't know what influence the banks have over our signings I reckon we are not allowed to sign anybody earning 'x' amount per week So again Lowe does what he did under Strachan instead of bringing in 2 quality players on decent money we buy 6 sub-standard ones. Forecast, Smith(ok injured but did we need a lightweight winger), Gasmi, Pekhart, Pulis have all been such great additions. This club always throws away opportunities - in the Kingsland they again had the bottle bar closed at half time when there were hundreds queing or not bothering - about £2 profit per bottle after wages etc then why throw away at least a grand in lost beer money.
