Think I have the initials correct. In the Saints Player interview with Harrison Reed, FH walks past the goal in training kit, clearly taking an interest in the practice match under way. I have every respect for professional women working in a largely masculine environment as they must usually be extra strong characters in addition to technical ability. Does anyone know if FH does have a professional role at the club and who she is?

Was it FA? Fran Alonso. Was on my UEFA B course. Very nice and humble guy if lacking a bit in confidence at the time. Madrid native and fluent in English. Didn't pass the B licence first time but don't know if he has done since.

the jist of the affair is that it was a woman so unless Fran's been on the tablets.............

There are a few "coaching" type pics on her profile, and she lives in Southampton, so makes sense... now if we could get a positive ID from the OP we can close the whole thing...

Aka Frankie Hunter Bsc Hons, Hull University graduate and former coach of the U15s at Hull City Ladies

Fran Hunter, our vision and awareness coach. She's well thought of in the game and has worked with top clubs and players. Basically looks to improve the awareness of players in terms of who's around them and where the ball is etc. Sounds odd but the story I've heard about her working with ronaldo involved getting him to the point where with a corner coming over, the lights were turned off but he still headed the ball into the net.

Isn't this the type of thing Sir Clive was pilloried for?

That'll come in handy if we sign Ronaldo and there is a power failure during a Saints game, covering all the bases, I like it!

It's the exact type of thing he was pilloried for.

The problem being that at the time, rugby was about a decade ahead of football in terms of sports science.

Indeed. In all seriousness though its a weird type of coaching but if you can improve the awareness of players its gonna help.

And it's all still about 40 years ahead of football fans.

Your description of her doesn't really match her own Linkedin does it?

A woman? Teaching spatial awareness? Something's not adding up here...have you ever seen them try to drive a car through a gap you could get a bus through?

No idea, I haven't read her LinkedIn.

Last season we recruited a girl called Fran to work as a vision coach. She worked and continues to work with other clubs and in other sports. She is very highly rated.

Personally I was impressed by the story that ronaldo was assisted to be able to follow the flight of a ball in total darkness and score a header. That suggested that his awareness had been improved somewhat.

Whether that or anything else is on her LinkedIn in I don't know or don't care. I answered the question about who she is. Unless we've appointed 2 different girls called Fran to do the same job I'm confident I'm talking about the right person.

In fairness they were probably aiming at you... :-)

Poor girl, a fleeting glimpse of her on an obscur training video have made her a totally famous young lady.

Quite. But it was the obvious scrutiny she was giving the training match that caught my attention. Thanks all for the details and I now know it is Frankie Hunter and that her role is to analyse training intensities and loads on the players giving feedback to players and coaches. She is part of the Academy team working with the u-13s through to the u-21s. Looks like we are lucky to have her and personally I think it is great that SFC have a female in a sports science role.

Why? It's not going to alter what I've been told about our vision coach called Fran is it.

Kinda impressive, tho once you make contact it's pretty tough to miss from 4 yards out. No idea if its anything to do with this fine lady tho...
