spyinthesky Posted 13 September, 2013 Share Posted 13 September, 2013 Piece in the 'I' today about the U21 League have promotion/relegation from next season. Article also mentions arrangements abroad where reserve sides play competitively in the lower leagues and it also discusses the possibility of Prem clubs having 'Feeder Teams' With regard to the latter there have been attempts at this in the past and I remember reading about Everton (when they were as top club) having an association with Tranmere many years ago. There were also suggestions of us having similar links in the past with Bournemouth but with their Championship set up and financial backing, I suppose the most relevant local lower league club to become a feeder club for us would be plucky Pompey!! Bearsy Posted 13 September, 2013 Share Posted 13 September, 2013 Portsmouth in the past have provided us with great young players like Ward-Prowse and Oxlaide-Chamberlain. Hopefully they are willing to continue with this arrangement!

EBS1980 Posted 13 September, 2013 Share Posted 13 September, 2013 I had a chat with Gordon Watson about this recently. About how spurs seemed to have teamed up with Swindon to send their youngsters out to gain experience at a lower level and Swindon benefit from the players and having the wages paid for. I think it'll happen more and more over the next few years with the rich just getting richer.
Rebel Posted 13 September, 2013 Share Posted 13 September, 2013 We should just be done with it and buy Bournemouth - and turn them in to our feeder club - question is would their stadium be big enough for our second team?
