ladysaint Posted 9 September, 2013 Posted 9 September, 2013 I work with a Norwich ST holder and they are being offered £12.50 tickets for Stoke away. Who sets this price and did I read somewhere that the PL has given each club an amount of money to encourage away fans or have I just dreamt that up.
matthewb Posted 9 September, 2013 Posted 9 September, 2013 No you did hear correctly!! Each club were given by the FAPL about £200,000 each to encourage away support at their clubs! I heard that Liverpool out of their 200k were going to contribute £2 per away ticket for the Liverpool fans. Another team possibly Stoke were running free coaches to a few places as well. View From The Top Posted 9 September, 2013 Posted 9 September, 2013 Stoke are supplying free away coaches for every away game this season.
Lets B Avenue Posted 9 September, 2013 Posted 9 September, 2013 We are using our 200k to pay Billy Sharp's wages.
Kaiser Soze Posted 10 September, 2013 Posted 10 September, 2013 Free pint for everyone at away games would be nice.
Whitey Grandad Posted 10 September, 2013 Posted 10 September, 2013 Even the under 18s and teetotallers?
saint_jas Posted 10 September, 2013 Posted 10 September, 2013 Even the under 18s and teetotallers? Guess a pint of coke or water then !!
Sour Mash Posted 10 September, 2013 Posted 10 September, 2013 Best option by far is what Liverpool are doing - knocking £2 off every away match ticket this season. Saints have so far been completely silent on what we're doing withour £200k!
Hatch Posted 10 September, 2013 Posted 10 September, 2013 Even the under 18s and teetotallers? shouldn't be at away games.

They may of course be leaving it until a crucial or an unfashionable game to offer cheap tickets. Norwich have already offered reduced coach travel for one of their games this season and £12.50 match tickets to Stoke.

I think Chelsea chartering a train for a night game away at Man Utd and charging fans £10 return is a good one as well.

Like to think our club would do something for the long hauls up to Tyne & Wear.

The9 Posted 10 September, 2013 Posted 10 September, 2013 I'd be quite keen to be chauffeured to Hull away, midweek, in case anyone from the club is checking this...

The9 Posted 11 September, 2013 Posted 11 September, 2013 How are you going to get back? I suspect that would also be something the club would not give consideration to.
Orange Posted 11 September, 2013 Posted 11 September, 2013 Much preferred the days of League 1 and the Champ in terms of away games. Great when you could turn up on the day and pay £10/£20 quid to get in, stand wherever you want and with who you want. Surely somethings got to give, take Liverpool at £42. Train was £40+ add on another £20/£30 for food/beer and general costs and you're looking at well over £100. Add too that the fact that pretty much every ground in the PL seems to have a dire atmosphere. Shower of sh*te.
