St Louis Posted 8 September, 2013 Share Posted 8 September, 2013 im really impressed how people can judge after just over 90 minutes of football either way. My thoughts exactly! I'm sure our scouts/coaches/manager considered this before spending £15 million!
Horley CTFC Saint Posted 8 September, 2013 Share Posted 8 September, 2013 There's clearly a pact with the Italy, Spain, Argentina axis conspiring to get SRL dropped from the England squad to stop us winning the Euros and the next World Cup. Poch will drop SRL next game and send him out on loan to a Div 1 club as he clearly can't play alongside Osvaldo. Hodgson will never pick a Div 1 player for England so we stay as also rans in the major International Tournaments. Can't believe none of you have picked up on this conspiracy! Smirking_Saint Posted 8 September, 2013 Share Posted 8 September, 2013 scored at least 7 of his 16 prem goals from what I can see. have no idea on assists that is better than 1 in 3 is that good, or bad? Im not going to look into it too much as I can watch and make my own mind up, personally I dont think he suits the tactics that we currently play, and thats not a slight on him at all, personally watching him towards the end of last season I dont think he was as effective Can I ask what the point of changing your nane from DD to Batman was if your going to revert to type

The9 Posted 9 September, 2013 Share Posted 9 September, 2013 Weird people on here even thinking we can't accommodate Lambert and Osvaldo, both of them can play up top or anywhere across the supporting 3 AM positions (and already have done). Add to that Rodriguez, who has already played everywhere across the 3 and up top, and Lallana, Davis and Ramirez who can play across any of the AM positions and often do, and we've got a very fluid and flexible front 4 who can interchange and are difficult to pick up for defences. You don't need a 4-4-2 to play two strikers, we've been fielding two of them in almost every match for a year already and barely using a front two. The9 Posted 9 September, 2013 Share Posted 9 September, 2013 It was because he hated being called dull drums wasn't it. Delldays got banned, so I would suspect that might have been part of the reason...
Turkish Posted 9 September, 2013 Share Posted 9 September, 2013 Delldays got banned, so I would suspect that might have been part of the reason... I think he actually asked for Dulldays account to be deleted and then reinvented himself as Brett from Camden, before admitting he was actually Jamie the Navy Chef from Plymouth. Glasgow_Saint Posted 9 September, 2013 Share Posted 9 September, 2013 Delldays got banned, so I would suspect that might have been part of the reason... I think that was a request from delldays / batman / Jamie/ Brett? He wasn’t getting the respect he thought he deserved as delldays and wanted to reinvent himself
The9 Posted 9 September, 2013 Share Posted 9 September, 2013 As Steve is in Ukraine it will be a few days before this can be confirmed... says "banned" next to delldays on his account, maybe that's the easiest way to delete an account without losing the posts. I'm considering a rebrand myself...
The Cat Posted 9 September, 2013 Share Posted 9 September, 2013 At least his reinvention has stopped all that annoying .... at the end of every sentence .... Used to really bug me for some reason .....

Yes all the front 3 can interchange, but rickie plays central & drifts from there. Jayrod has disappointed in the bpl when playing central (which is rare), but has done well in the league cup against weaker teams. Jay is poor with his back to goal, but excels when running at defenders from the wing or deep. He has also proved effective making a late run off the shoulder. Can't argue with that, other than I don't think he's disappointed in the centre and I don't think he's that weak facing away from goal, he just tends to try and run instead of holding it up like a knackered old pro would. He hasn't played in the middle anything like as often as we have others who prefer to play there. He does prefer to run at people though, but we wouldn't want a bunch of photofit players who all do the same thing - the fact they have unique strengths and weaknesses is part of the problem for defenders as they have to keep thinking and changing the way they defend in each situation, which makes them more likely to make mistakes. Saint Without a Halo Posted 9 September, 2013 Share Posted 9 September, 2013 My thoughts exactly! I'm sure our scouts/coaches/manager considered this before spending £15 million! No really? I think we spent £15M on a striker as an impulse and now all our staff are scratching their heads thinking how we might accommodate him because it never occured to them to buy someone who can play in the system they want to play with the players they already have! Suhari Posted 15 September, 2013 Share Posted 15 September, 2013 Watching the Wet Ham game. Ossie has some skills, but 2 up front messes too much with our shape. One or t'other, not both.
doggface Posted 15 September, 2013 Author Share Posted 15 September, 2013 No great shakes again today but it is early days. We were so fluid under poch when we first came in, and that came in a 4-2-3-1 want to see that again. 1st half in a 4-3-3 vs west brom we did well too. 2 up top? Not for me.... Hopefully they click at anfield & we push on from there
Suhari Posted 22 September, 2013 Share Posted 22 September, 2013 Better vs. Liverpool. The pressing and movement was back. But still one or th other for me. Let's give Ossie a run on his own.
