orchardsaint Posted 3 September, 2013 Share Posted 3 September, 2013 That is it now. All over. No more, will we, won't we, who would be good, who would we like. It is all finished. So now can we drop all of the threads around this sort of debate and get behind the team/squad/manager we have? MP must be happy with what he has at his disposal or there would have been at the very least enquiries for other players, not to mention last minute panic buys. Most fans here would have been over the moon if, before the window opened, you would have offered them a world class forward, a quality centre half, that we have lacked since Svensson packed it in, and a solid centre mid that has shown to be capable of bossing Barcelona about. Add to that we have not lost any players poached by bigger clubs, snapping away our talent pool, only those MP didn't think improves the team. Now, it is probably too early to say after three games, but we look ok. Nothing to write home about - we are not better than Liverpool, Arsenal and the rest consistently yet, but that doesn't mean we can't beat them when we play them. And I don't see any reason to panic. But what do you want? We are not a club that has been in the top four for the last twenty years but don't seem to be able to win anything. We are Southampton. Not long ago we nearly didn't exist! How do some of the people on here get themselves up in the morning to go to St Mary's? Why not just sit at home and gripe. But when you do, stay away from your internet connection. You must be great fun sitting near if we aren't 3-0 up at half time. Saints first, Saints always!

Saint Garrett Posted 3 September, 2013 Share Posted 3 September, 2013 Good post, fully agree. We were quiet on Saturday for no reason at all, hopefully the atmosphere will pick up now all the speculation has gone away.
orchardsaint Posted 3 September, 2013 Author Share Posted 3 September, 2013 Wow, another lecture from an ÜberFan... Not a lecture, just a request from someone, maybe one among many, who is just very tired of reading the same ***t from the same people about the same things. Sour Mash Posted 3 September, 2013 Share Posted 3 September, 2013 Good post, fully agree. We were quiet on Saturday for no reason at all, hopefully the atmosphere will pick up now all the speculation has gone away. Atmosphere has absolutely nothing to do with transfer speculation. Here's a left-field suggestion. You dont get uppity about certain individuals expressing their feelings about the team and their performances, and I wont get uppity about you telling us how we should support or follow the team ? That OK with you ?

That OK with you ? Express your feelings by all means, but the point is, why do it over and over and over and over and over again. I am not telling anyone how to support the team, just wondering what is the point when it all seems negative? Although I doubt that will stop you from being uppity. Tony F Posted 3 September, 2013 Share Posted 3 September, 2013 I'm afraid its the "object if anyone has different ways of communicating to mine" put down. Common. Too common. Irritatingly common. Habitual for some, sadly.
Whitey Grandad Posted 3 September, 2013 Share Posted 3 September, 2013 Er... as opposed to not getting behind the team?
wild-saint Posted 3 September, 2013 Share Posted 3 September, 2013 Here's a left-field suggestion. You dont get uppity about certain individuals expressing their feelings about the team and their performances, and I wont get uppity about you telling us how we should support or follow the team ? That OK with you ? to be fair i dont recall any occasion where you have posted anything in support of the team, so i dont really understand why you would get offended when someone comments on how other fans should support the team as they clearly arent talking about you. I think its fair to say that most users on this forum consider you a troll that is only interested in baiting other users and not really considering any other position other than how poor saints play, manage, perform in the transfer market , treat thier players / staff / customers or fans, etc etc etc. I dont suppose you have had that hand related lawn mower accident yet? jjsaint Posted 3 September, 2013 Share Posted 3 September, 2013 ****** to that. I'm looking forward to booing our team against West Ham, and cheering an imaginary Aaron Lennon and Jason Puncheon. That's what separates the real fans from the clappers.
