benjii Posted 4 September, 2013 Share Posted 4 September, 2013 So the only matches which are more than a whopping £3 cheaper for an adult are Hull v Huddersfield and Sunderland v Peterborough with no others being less than £15 and most being between £15 and £20. The pleas on here for it to be a tenner would make it the joint cheapest. I think the adult price is fair enough and it is a very large discount against our normal adult price. Pay your money and take your choice. If you don't think it's value, don't go. As others have said, though, I think where we have messed up here is with the kids prices. It's a great opportunity for kids who don't normally go to be taken on the cheap and it's not as though they will be taking up seats which could be sold at a premium price. I remember at the Dell it used to be £3 for U18s for League Cup games and it was a good laugh going with a bunch of mates who didn't normally go (back then the early round was two legs as well, which I liked). £18 for adults, three or four quid for U18s and free for U11s would be my shout. JRM Posted 4 September, 2013 Share Posted 4 September, 2013 You've got to wonder about Man Utd, massive ground to fill and going with those crazy prices. Guess there are plenty of football tourists who'll snap up tickets for Man Utd v Liverpool is whatever comp it is. i think people arguing that saints have "discounted" the tickets are missing the point, Saints are showing no apparent awareness around the unattractiveness of this fixture and seem content charging more and having a small crowd rather than filling the ground and attracting fans who can't usually afford to go (particularly families)

I used to work with a s/t holder Manc who was living in London and when renewing his s/t a few years back he was told by the ticket ofice he HAD to sign up for LC games too if he wanted to renew!! He was not best pleased with this as, living in London, he knew he would not want to actually attend any of these.

Golden Balls Posted 4 September, 2013 Share Posted 4 September, 2013 But thats people's point. Most won't pay it and it'll unfortunately be a low crowd. Exactly. 9000 at £18 = £162,000 19000 at £10 = £190,000 + more people to buy bits on the day, more potential new "customers", and a better atmosphere leading to likely more repeat purchase. Not to mention that fans won't feel ripped off. I really do wonder where they find these people who make decisions like this.
dannysfc Posted 4 September, 2013 Share Posted 4 September, 2013 I'll probably be one of the ones on here who will go seeing as most on here aren't and watching the City v Rovers JPT game tonight I thought that City looked decent especially Harewood, Baldock etc as it should be a good game if those 2 play along with others as I'd like to go on a decent Cup run too but we'l see!!! Saint_John Posted 6 September, 2013 Share Posted 6 September, 2013 Does anyone know whether the period for ST to purchase a ticket MEANS to purchase their OWN seat ? The o/s says "Tickets for this match will initially go on sale to 2013/14 Season Ticket Holders at 9am on Thursday 5th September, before General Sale commences at 9am on Wednesday 11th September." ....In previous seasons they have not opened all the stands and I have been given a ticket elsewhere in the ground therefore I had to arrange to purchase tickets with others at the same time. However last season for the FA Cup game I was able to purchase my ticket for my OWN seat online WITHOUT any ticket being sent in the post or anything and the new computer system just allowed my ST Card to gain entry. Does anyone know whether (a) All stands are open ? (b) ST can purchase their own seats online ?

Whitey Grandad Posted 6 September, 2013 Share Posted 6 September, 2013 According to someone in another thread, the Kingsland isn't open for the Bristol City game. Correct. Itchen and a couple of blocks in Chapel and Northam only. I had to buy a seat directly opposite mine. If Cortese sneezes I shall get wet.

LeBenali Posted 10 September, 2013 Share Posted 10 September, 2013 Usually sit in Block 30 but managed to get a seat nearly opposite (Block 9) and a couple of rows lower than usual. Was in two minds about going, but having not seen any of our younger players in pre-season or Barnsley, I'm looking forward to seeing them in action. ladysaint Posted 12 September, 2013 Share Posted 12 September, 2013 I purchased a ticket then realised that my flight doesnt get back in time to get to the game, presume the returns policy will be more trouble than its worth, unless somebdoy wants a ticket for £15 in the Northam. RedWillie Posted 12 September, 2013 Share Posted 12 September, 2013 Is it worth someone on here who's good at letter writing asking the club exactly what they are trying to achieve with the pricing for this match. I was going to take my two kids, but not at those prices. They are completely missing the trick with young fans and people who can't afford the PL. This may be my last season with a season ticket. It's got beyond a joke and has an impact on my enjoyment of the whole day.

SaintRichmond Posted 13 September, 2013 Share Posted 13 September, 2013 playing with less than 50% of the first team. SFC are concentrating on the Prem obviously....... so I've just concentrated on saving myself £18 ..... Simples
IFHP Posted 13 September, 2013 Share Posted 13 September, 2013 Current home sales: 3,819 To be honest, with over a week to go and a home game on Saturday, that's not too bad at £18 a pop. I wonder attendance the club think is acceptable at the prices they are charging, over 10K? could well get that.
Batman Posted 13 September, 2013 Share Posted 13 September, 2013 Current home sales: 3,819 bang goes my stupid thought of it being a decent crowd £18 is really daft though why not £10 for adults with under 16s with them go for free

I wonder attendance the club think is acceptable at the prices they are charging, over 10K? could well get that. The blocks they've opened only provide for a capacity of just over 11,000 - 1,000 of which are the away allocation, so that suggests they're not planning on having a big crowd present. I guess with nearly 2 weeks to go, it's difficult to tell for sure, but with the tickets having been on sale for nearly 2 weeks already, surely most who have decided whether they're going or not would have got their tickets, especially as many areas of the ground with a high concentration of season ticket holders are closed? ollysaints1 Posted 14 September, 2013 Share Posted 14 September, 2013 Hopefully the evident low turnout for this one will make the club reconsider their ticketing prices. It should be free for kids, £10 for adults.
RedAndWhite91 Posted 14 September, 2013 Share Posted 14 September, 2013 £18, **** that... The club need a reality check! When I was a little kid, my West Ham supporting Dad used to take me to pre-season friendlies, cheap cup games, because they were cheap. That's what got me hooked and made me support Saints. Can see a lot of parents being put off from taking their kids to Saints games because of the extortionate pricing.
