berkshiresaint Posted 1 September, 2013 Posted 1 September, 2013 With the sudden death of Saints fan. Sir David Frost i was wondering who our most famous fan is, Tiff Needel being one of them.
The Kraken Posted 1 September, 2013 Posted 1 September, 2013 Either Cerrrrrrraig David or Pinder, I'd have thought.
Maggie May Posted 1 September, 2013 Posted 1 September, 2013 Frost was an Arsenal fan, but followed Saints as he lived in Michelmersh for years.
timayes Posted 1 September, 2013 Posted 1 September, 2013 Fiona Phillips (now we are back in the prem).
doubleonothing Posted 1 September, 2013 Posted 1 September, 2013 Didn't we establish Holly Valance was a Saints fan last time we had one of these threads. And the Queen as she hasn't presented the FA cup since 1976
Saints boy in Leeds Posted 1 September, 2013 Posted 1 September, 2013 Possibly the fittest ... Holly Valance – Southampton Rachel, the mother of the Neighbours actress, pop singer and 0800 REVERSE commercials front lady, was born in Southampton before emigrating to Australia. Holly is said to be a Saints supporter in her honour.
paulwantsapint Posted 1 September, 2013 Posted 1 September, 2013 Will Johnny Depp start supporting us now that his body double plays for us Also rumoured to have a place in lymington
CalneSaint Posted 1 September, 2013 Posted 1 September, 2013 Isn't Ed Chamberlain from Sky Sports a Saints fan?
The Kraken Posted 1 September, 2013 Posted 1 September, 2013 Iwan Thomas? Actually a Spurs fan but with Saints leanings due to his time down here.
Sheaf Saint Posted 1 September, 2013 Posted 1 September, 2013 John Inverdale from BBC sport is a Saints fan.
Dr Who? Posted 1 September, 2013 Posted 1 September, 2013 Ed Chamberlain or that Will Champion bloke from Coldplay.
Ohio Saint Posted 1 September, 2013 Posted 1 September, 2013 Strange. For no apparent reason I can recall, I actually Googled David Frost less than a week ago just to see if he was still alive. Maybe I killed him by Google!? Anyone have a celebrity they don't like enough to ask me to Google them?
Bearsy Posted 1 September, 2013 Posted 1 September, 2013 Strange. For no apparent reason I can recall, I actually Googled David Frost less than a week ago just to see if he was still alive. Maybe I killed him by Google!? Anyone have a celebrity they don't like enough to ask me to Google them? I actually outed him as a Norwich fan in my scouting report. It was probably the shock that killed him!
Tokyo-Saint Posted 1 September, 2013 Posted 1 September, 2013 Bear talking about someone who has just died - this never ends well. Protest avi at the ready!
Bearsy Posted 1 September, 2013 Posted 1 September, 2013 Too soon for jokes tokyos, Frost is not even cold.
Tokyo-Saint Posted 1 September, 2013 Posted 1 September, 2013 It's like you're addicted bear. You just can't help but play dead celeb Russian roulette. In a few years some knob like Ludwig will blame me for getting you banned cause of this conversation. I'm preparing my protest thread already bear. After that we better hope 606 beef jizz is back up. See you there.
Bearsy Posted 1 September, 2013 Posted 1 September, 2013 Ok! It didn't quite work tho, I'm trying to think of a better one, something to do with a late frost. I wouldn't want to go out on such a bum note! Where's Scotty? He's good with this stuff!
Huffton Posted 2 September, 2013 Posted 2 September, 2013 Strange. For no apparent reason I can recall, I actually Googled David Frost less than a week ago just to see if he was still alive. Maybe I killed him by Google!? Anyone have a celebrity they don't like enough to ask me to Google them? Bieber? Redknapp?
alehouseboys Posted 2 September, 2013 Posted 2 September, 2013 John Inverdale from BBC sport is a Saints fan. John Inverdale from BBC sport is a...Lincoln fan, just has a 'soft spot' for Saints from his time at Uni down here. Roger Black hasn't been mentioned yet, nor has Sue Barker or Claire Balding (not that I have a clue if these two are or not, they just get mentioned every time this subject gets raised...regularly)
Sheaf Saint Posted 2 September, 2013 Posted 2 September, 2013 John Inverdale from BBC sport is a...Lincoln fan, just has a 'soft spot' for Saints from his time at Uni down here. Oh, OK. Just I heard him on the radio once talking about his experience of going to the '76 cup final, and the way he spoke about it made it sound like he was a lifelong Saint.

Sorry guys, the match day threads will never be the same after they are all dead.
Tokyo-Saint Posted 4 September, 2013 Posted 4 September, 2013 I heard that although not living in the area, Jeremy Clarkson is a bit of a saints fan. He could even be posting on here, doing book reviews, telling boring wallet stories, who knows.
Secret Site Agent Posted 4 September, 2013 Posted 4 September, 2013 Fiona Phillips (now we are back in the prem). How many times do I have to be haunted by the beeatch who deserted us when we were in the championship and she said 'Chelsea' She gives girls from Millbrook a bad name.
Secret Site Agent Posted 4 September, 2013 Posted 4 September, 2013 Sorry, back on Thread, Roy from Eastenders, I kid you not. Tony Caunter is a big fan and has been since he was a boy.
Secret Site Agent Posted 4 September, 2013 Posted 4 September, 2013 Terry the barber in Woolston. Is that the same Terry who used to have a Barbers in the posh houses in Bugle Street. £6 for a cut and blow job, if you know what I mean young man!!!!!
SuperMikey Posted 4 September, 2013 Posted 4 September, 2013 Surely MLG is our most famous fan? He's known globally for his posts on the Jonas Brothers forums.
charlie saint Posted 6 September, 2013 Posted 6 September, 2013 Frost was an Arsenal fan, but followed Saints as he lived in Michelmersh for years. Interesting - according to the copy of Medway Weekly News I happened to see in my local supermarket yesterday, David Frost, having been born in Tenterden, and gone to school in Chatham, was a Gills fan. Apparently they're considering having a minute's silence for him before their next home game. "FFS", as I believe they say these days.

Apparently they're considering having a minute's silence for him before their next home game. "FFS", as I believe they say these days. As you say, he was born in Kent so they're probably his 'local' team. Although he had a 'weekend' home near Romsey the only time I'm aware of a connection to Saints is when he was linked to the Gavin Davies consortium that were reported to want to buy Southampton FC back in the 90s. Whether he ever went to games I don't know but he did used to go to the Emirates, as did Gavin Davies and numerous other London-based celebrities, how much of an Arsenal 'fan' he was is anyone's guess. I've also read before that he was fond of Nottm Forest as he had a trial there but turned down a Pro contract!
