I am quite happy to be shot down so do your worst. This forum is really ****ing me off now. The knee jerk reaction from some of the knob jockeys on here is unacceptable. I enjoy the cut and thrust of sensible debate but the knobs and trolls that have taken over unopposed on here have made me think twice about posting. As I said on another thread, the the lunatics have taken over the asylum. People will say that it's all about opinions. I say that it's all about common sense. Fill your boots.

I generally try to avoid this place for the 24hrs following a defeat (it's not that difficult actually) for precisely the reasons you state.

 

Opinion is one thing, but the constant shove it down your throat, need to be proved right, slagging off is frankly tiresome.

 

I expect some (you know who you are) will say "don't be so precious", or "its a mboard FFS", but it has been taken over by a gang of half a dozen our so keyboard warriors who make it a unpleasant experience.

 

Shame really.

Good post. I notice two of the worst cases of what you describe have already had a pop at you. Pathetic really. Must be a nightmare to watch a game with these types constantly whining, b1tching, goading, point scoring as loud as they can.

There has always been a negative reaction on the forum after defeats. Always. There were doom laded threads in the old SaintsForever days, they're not any worse now on here.

I agree with you. These threads really do help to improve the standard of football debate on the forum.

This forum is mostly made up of dickheads who've never really experienced the real world,they just turn up every match day put on their hardest deepest singing voices after a couple of shandys and slink back behind their computer screens.

This is the only way they can get attention I'm afraid.

I agree. I have been supporting Saints since the mid 1950's. I have spent thousands on the club over the years but my opinions seem to count for nothing compared to the "characters" and know allls that seem to inhabit this forum ATM. Maybe because I am an old git and enjoy constructive debate this forum is not for me. Sad really.

Football fans are so fickle, we all have opinions but who is right? I think you just to respect others take on the game and try and put yours across the best you can. Debate in the flesh is better than debate on this forum. If someone in the pub says **** off you talking ****, you both probably have a laugh but if it is typed then it seems 300 x worse and more offensive!

After reading some of the other teams forums that people have posted on here recently I've marvelled at their ability to discuss football in a sensible manner without their equivalent of the 'usual suspects' constantly trying to score points/chucking snide remarks around. Don't get me wrong I like a laugh and chortle at some of it but the frequency is a little taxing to say the least.......

If it is the latter then maybe there is an opening for an intelligent forum somewhere on t'internet. I am all for banter and a bit of a laugh but I am not sure that TSW is currently the place for any of these options ATM.

It's still a decent forum, there are plenty of posters on here that are willing to enter reasonable debate. You just need to know who to ignore, it's quite obvious these days though as they've become quite sad parody of themselves in some cases.

sometimes i go visiting on not606 forum, and on there they chat v.sensibly bout football. Srsly they do! I don't spend much time on there cos i find it v.difficult to contribute sensibly, and cos they think I'm tokyo-saint which is v.embarrassing, but you might quite like it over there.

 

Word of warning tho, they don't like trolling! They banned Barry Sanchez and wouldn't even take him back when I offered to take two of their skate posters in return :(

It seems like only a few chosen ones are allowed to have any opinion on this forum site, and if they don’t agree with others who post, they then think that by hurling a few swear words, or calling them bed wetter’s etc. makes their opinion even more right.

Perhaps all new posts and threads should go through a committee of the chosen ones, and only those that they deem acceptable, and in agreement with their thoughts, be put on the forum.

I wasn't a troll either, they did not like the way I posted as I was deemed negative, the guys on there as I said are ruthless, so much clap a clinic could not cure it.

Yes we all put some nonsense on here but some just do it for effect and to make an online celebrity.
