saint_ed Posted 11 December, 2008 Share Posted 11 December, 2008 It's like those people who kill themselves using public transport (i.e. jumping in front of a train).....utterly selfish IMO.
jeff leopard Posted 12 December, 2008 Share Posted 12 December, 2008 are you mental? :smt081 maybe but that’s for another thread, and also mental isn't the prefered term. Those looney left pc brigade will send you to a five star luxury prison and shower you in benefits. isn't the UK one of the world leaders in this battle with climate change? havent we set ourselves very high targets to hit with regards to climate change..? this is the crux of my point, we claim to be leading the way but its rapidly unravelling and nothing would confirm this point more than building extra runways. just not building another runway around london wont stop the planes coming here....it will make them go further to another airport ffs...is that so hard to grasp..? building extra runways will lead to a major increase in flights and send out the message that this is fine. so....as a country. we are doing a heck of a great deal in this climate change thing, despite the fact that due to our size, what we do will not make a great deal of difference in the grand scheme of things No we're not, as a nation we're talking the talk and feeling great about ourselves but not following this up with action. This is why I'm not going to slate the protestors as they are highlighting Brown's shameful hypocracy. We're saying, 'oh look at us and the things we're doing' but in practice this amounts to little more than getting impoverished nations to off set our carbon emissions. Anyroad, phuq this for a laugh, I'm off to set fire a pile of old tires and fling them at disabled kiddies and vulnerable adults. Thats what you wanted, thats what you've got. HAPPY NOW? Saint George Posted 24 December, 2008 Share Posted 24 December, 2008 Thankfully the tide is finally turning and through the smoke screens and bulls*t from the rabid left.....The truth is starting to emerge. Scientists from all corners of the World are finally standing up to the arrogance of the Left, who are forever forcing their demented ideals down peoples throats....Even IPCC Scientists are breaking ranks and admitting to the scam and the lie that is the so called 'Consensus on Man made Global warming'. The 'U.S. Senate Minority' report just about sums it up....Some very interesting quotes from some of the worlds leading Scientists.........Some peeps are going to be left feeling pretty dumb sometime fairly soon

Robsk II Posted 24 December, 2008 Share Posted 24 December, 2008 Is all this stated as total fact? Either way, St George has a track record of misquoting things, selling things as fact that aren't, using crazy statistics, arguments from people who clearly have an agenda and are far from impartial, etc. If he presented a vaguely normal case, more people would listen. Yet all he comes out with is crazily vitriolic anti-left bile, stating his own views as the absolute truth etc as much as anyone else... "finally standing up to the arrogance of the Left" etc.. I mean, that's plain deluded. Most western governments are far from being truly left wing, for example, but conspiracy theory fascist man would have us believe the world is a leftist cabal. This is case in point. This source seems is a political one, and as such is unlikely to be unbiased. It's a senate report apparently, and we all know senate doesn't support the Kyoto agreement, and if you don't bother to factor in potential motivations for this aside from seeking the truth, you are as blinkered as anyone else. St George states all sorts of things that only tell a half truth, even though this is what he accuses all other who don't agree of doing. 650 scientists does not make the entire population of the science community, not does the term "international scientist" mean "the world's leading scientists" as he puts it, either. Some are academics etc. I'm sure all are respectable, but leading? No. I'm sure some are quite eminent, but as another point, some might well be said to have an agenda of their own, given who they work for - employers and roles include some that would seem likely to not want to be tied on fossil fuel usage etc, ie space agencies etc. Also, some of the quotes given are far from rampantly in support of St George, and are much more cautionary or just not in full agreement with global warming as a theory. St George has us believe that these people support his argument. Not so. here are some examples of people who are simply not buying into it, yet not rejecting it either: “I am a skeptic…Global warming has become a new religion.” - Nobel Prize Winner for Physics, Ivar Giaever. “So far, real measurements give no ground for concern about a catastrophic future warming.” - Scientist Dr. Jarl R. Ahlbeck, a chemical engineer at Abo Akademi University in Finland “Anyone who claims that the debate is over and the conclusions are firm has a fundamentally unscientific approach to one of the most momentous issues of our time.” - Solar physicist Dr. Pal Brekke, senior advisor to the Norwegian Space Centre in Oslo. “All those urging action to curb global warming need to take off the blinkers and give some thought to what we should do if we are facing global cooling instead.” - Geophysicist Dr. Phil Chapman, an astronautical engineer and former NASA astronaut. Not exactly conclusive rejection of global warming as a concept, is it? it's usual of St George to not bother to read what people say but instead attack everyone. I for one am not in any way entirely sold on global warming. I don't regard it to have been proven. I simply advocate finding the most clean, viable source of energy, and think general apathy in regard to pollution etc is retarded and short sighted. Renewable energy etc has as much benefit for national economies etc as for the world if global warming is right anyway. But will George still just call me a loony left and assume I'm automatically obsessed with global warming? Yes he will. Because he's a crazy idiot. Read his sources and think about it before you just believe his rhetoric, as it is usually highly flawed; often simply wrong, always overly emotive and sensationalist. Saint George Posted 30 December, 2008 Share Posted 30 December, 2008 There you go again .....Going off on one..... putting words into peoples mouths, making false accusations and typically avoiding the point!........."****mentalist" am i?.....So that's what you call people that bring an opinion backed by 650 relevantly qualified scientist's to the table?.....I suggest you go get some help, just like the good doctor advised Now if you go back and re read my post you'll see it was about the"consenses on man made Global warming".....yup, you made yourself look dumb and stupid yet again.....If you eco warriors had a valid point, you'd stick with the facts and quit spewing out the same old garbage or reverting to correcting a spelling mistake like the other lefty on here .....You're just proving the above scientists right...they say their biggest problem with presenting the facts, is they're nearly always met with hysterical responses, just like yours BTW...Carbon, Pollution, and renewable energy are three totally different issue's with potentially three different solutions, If indeed any are needed at all....If it take's an "idiot" and ****mentalist to tell you that, what does it make you? I hear Hamas are looking for a few human shields...fancy it?
1976_Child Posted 30 December, 2008 Share Posted 30 December, 2008 One of the group, speaking on the radio this morning, said that she worked full time and used her annual leave for 'events' [...protesting at Stanstead] such as this one. how very, very, very, f\/cking sad. Reminds me of the ****-wits who quit their jobs to protest about the Twyford Down thing. ****ing long-haired, smelly lefty greeny ****-heads. If they want to live in the ****ing dark ages then fine by me. They will find most of Africa is still living in caves with out any modern infrastructure. The only thing is that I know a few Africans and I would not wish to impose these environment fanatics on them. Personally I think a good strong concrete wall, a few blindfolds and a machine gun should sort them out.
