We've bought in 3 players,

Lovren for £8.5m from Lyon,

Wanyama for £12.3m from Celtic,

Osvaldo for £12.9m from AS Roma.

Only 1 of these players has actually improved the team, which is the extremely impressive Lovren. Even more pleasing to see was how dissappointed he was with yesterday's result, taking to twitter to say ' I am very dissappointed,' 'I am sure I will not sleep, good night and thank you for your support.'

Such a great player, and such a great personality as well.

With Wanyama and Osvaldo though, all we seem to done is upset the balance of the team. Morgan and Cork play SO well alongside one another and we've broken that key partnership up for no apparent reason just cause we fancied Wanyama.

The same with Osvaldo, we've shoe-horned him in the team to play alongside Lambert, when he'd be better suited to play up-top on his own.

We should've bought 1 decent championship DM and 1 decent championship Striker (Le Fondre maybe?) that wouldn't of minded sitting on the bench, playing in Carling Cup games etc. and waiting for the chance if SRL or Cork/Morgan got injured.

I also don't understand why we've shoe-horned Chambers and Ward-Prowse in the team, they're not ready for the 1st team in my opinion and we should be playing our best team every time no matter what.

Would you like me to shoe-horn my big toe up your arse?

I was very impressed with Wanyama in the first 2 games. Less so in the third.

I am yet to be particularly impressed by Osvaldo in the 135 minutes of action he has had in a Saints shirt.

Still pretty sure they are both improvements on what we already have, and will contribute very well in the coming years. Thats's because I'm not a so short-sighted as to write of signings based on one poor performance away at Norwich.

I think you're giving them too long. If a striker doesn't score I would fine him + play a different striker next game. They'll soon learn!

Agree with MOG that Mr Blakey is entitled to of his own opinion and to of every right to express it but I do regret that he confuses the preposition 'of' with the word 'have'. It's 'wouldn't HAVE minded' the past participle of the verb To Have.

The team we had last year was only good enough to avoid relegation on the penultimate day. We needed to change something.

So we bought some new players and are giving some younger players a chance. Are you against that? Should we play the team that nearly got relegated last year? Seriously? Just what do you expect? We should go from just avoid relegation to beating the likes of Sunderland and Norwich easily? Wakey wakey - its the Premier League and Cardiff can beat Man City, Stoke can beat West Ham away, West Brom can draw at Goodison.....anything can happen. If you think we spent £xxm so that instantly equals team bonding shape performance and results improve vertically then take off those rosetinted glasses. It takes time and luck. A penalty given yesterday and the game changes such that we might have won or drawn away....and would you still be so critical?

In rebuilding and upgrading a team occasionally you get lucky and the combination of new players and young players plus the best of the others works instantly, other times it takes time. Some clubs allow the manager and team more time than others. Many agree that allowing a team the chance to settle with each other and manager is better than constant chop and change. We have played three games this season that count. If we get better than last year that's a good season top ten amazing. Get real chaps.
