He's not a player to set the world alight but he is a good poacher at lower level. Scored goals for us and Southend and while he didn't bang tons in for his last two teams he still got a few. I reckon Southend will probably be his destination too, but he did a lot to get us out of League One. Certainly more than Forte, who'll be remembered for one thing...

Two things, he was very fast as well as the MK Dons goal. Some might say "Johnno Quick".

Maybe three, racial stereotypes and all that.

Anyway, cheers for the effort, Dean Hammond. Surprised he's gone to Leicester, do they need a defensive midfielder then ?

He did the job we asked of him, he helped lead us back to the premier league. The goal that sent us on our way 1st game back in the championship against Leeds, was particularly memorable. All the best Dean hope you have a great season, glad you got yourself a decent club like Leicester.

Solid pro, was instrumental in bringing the winning mentality back into the club and played a big part in pushing us all the way back to the prem.

Best of luck at Leicester, they've signed a very good pro there.

Ditto, hope it goes very well there. Decent manager too, should be a good combo

I certainly wish him well, he was an integral part in turning our fortunes round and propelling us back up the leagues.

As others have said, a good honest hardworking bloke, no frills or pretensions - unlike the greed and grasp of the Premiership; but that - sadly in some ways - is where we all strive to be.

It always seemed bittersweet that players who it meant so much to never got the chance to play at Premier League level after promotion. Hamster and Sharp being the main examples.

It's a ruthless business.

Agree, there are others who contributed to this as well who have been jettisoned - Barnard for example.

In fairness though, I think Hammond probably had found his level in the Championship. If anything found out on occasion. That said, he often offered more than his own ability in organising others around him.
