Wes Tender Posted 13 December, 2008 Posted 13 December, 2008 Again, I never said that Pearson or Poortvliet was the better, but that it was not possible to differentiate between the two, with such a vast difference in resources made available to one but not the other. Well then, you really should be a bit more careful how you word your posts then. Saying that "but no way from last season can you say he would have been any better" was a total irrelevance if you are going to argue now in your defence that it was not possible to make the comparison because of the difference in resources between them. And what is the point of you referencing Fryatt? Unless you are underlining the point regarding Stern John. Of course I am not underlining your point about John. You really aren't very wide awake, are you? Again, it was a total irrelevance mentioning John at all, but having done so, you gave validity to me mentioning the part Fryatt is playing in the current success of Pearson as a counter argument. As I said, it was disingenuous saying that had not John been available to Pearson we would have been relegated. The same could be said of all the players who either made a positive or indeed a negative contribution to our results. Stern John was available regularly to Pearson but not Poortvliet, so you have a direct comparison. Just to take the ground right from under your feet, John was only loaned out to Bristol City on 24th October, so unless he was injured for all of that time and unless my memory is playing tricks on me, he both was available to Poortvliet and also played some games for him. Take Stern John away and it's probably relegation, allow Poortvliet to use Stern John and it's more than likely we would have scored more goals and subsequently some more points. Fryatt does not even come on the radar except in your "any logic if it's against Lowe", what a total fool. Having dismantled your argument point by point, as has Um Pahars on other points, I wonder why you continue to dig an ever bigger hole for yourself. I always conclude that when somebody has to resort to name calling, it is indicative that they have lost the ability to argue their position in an adult manner.
