Capital One Cup 3rd Round Draw - Home to Bristol City

I'm happy enough with that. A cup run always puts a spring in my step. With the number of top-tier clashes in the next round, a good chance of getting one. Always amazed me that neither of the Bristol teams have done better. Huge city.

ms pap and I agreed that arseholes in Swindon would have squeaked in unison when they saw their opposition.

Nice kit...

Thought last night when they were showing them beating Palace, that would be an interesting tie, then rather immaturely thinking whoever is at home the other team would be accidentally passing the ball to them or the first 10-15 minutes!!

:?

Bugger just realised bloody work will scupper getting to that game!!

You got the wrong Brizzle, rovers would bring 3k no chance city will.

Are you on drugs?!

City are by far the better supported bristol team.

3k may be asking a bit much for a league cup match - but we have filled the end before as you well know.

Anyway - you should beat us easily now that we are 2 leagues apart.

The only time you filled that end was when you were top of the championship, after that you didn't get anywhere near filling the away end.

City are 'capable' of taking away a good crowd, they've bought good numbers to SMS before.

A League One side drawing a Premier side for a cup game 80-90 miles away would be a good distraction from lower league football. They might even fancy their chances against our reserves...they have just dumped out Palace.

It wouldn't surprise me to see a big Brizzle following, they usually play up a bit when they come down too.

Whilst City have a larger home following, Rovers away following is out of all proportion to their home gates. City average 1 away fan for every 20 home fans (4th worst away following in the footbal league) Rovers is twice that. As a side note the bestest fans in the world avearge 1 away fan for evey 15 home fans and are therefore officially 57th bestest away fans!!!!!

Good stats - I like it. Though doesn't answer the question of who is likely to bring the most in absolute terms as depends what their average home gates are (I'm guessing City is higher than Rovers but is it more than double?)

Interestingly for 2012 - 13 Rovers avarage attendence was just under half of Citys, 6308 v 13348, Rovers were responsible for 2 of highest attendences at in League 2, Oxford and Torquay whilst city featured in none of the highest attendences in the Championship.

Never mind how many Bristol City will bring (imo won't be more than 1500 max) i doubt the home crowd will be much unless priced correctly. By that i think £15 for good seats in Kingsland / Itchen centre, and £10 wings / behind goals, kids for £1, like it used to be when we played teams like Yeovil and got over 20k
