Teams already through to the third round draw:

Man United

Man City

Chelsea

Tottenham

Swansea

Wigan

Saints

Bristol City

Burnley

Fulham

Leicester

Derby

Leeds

Huddersfield

Hull

Liverpool

Norwich

Peterborough

With 7 games being played tonight:

Accrington v Cardiff

Aston Villa v Rotherham

Difficult to see any of the 5 PL teams involved this evening losing, so looks like there will be 19 PL teams out of the 32 in the draw.

Another local-ish away game for me would be nice (as I got my wish for Barnsley away in the last round :)). Leeds or Huddersfield would be good. Derby isn't far and it would be good to exorcise the ghost of the 2007 play-offs at Pride Park. Rotherham would be great but I can't see them beating Villa tonight.

As I want us to progress the easiest draw possible but for personal reasons, somewhere easy for me to get to on a school night!

From a purely selfish perspective, I was hoping Burton would beat Fulham in that shootout last night as it's a ground I've not been to yet.

Now that Fulham are through, though, I'll take a trip to Craven Cottage as it'll only take me about half an hour to get there!

Home to Man U would be nice. Good test and if MP selects a strong team, we can put out a side that will be more interested in the Champions League. Winning a game like that would do a lot to raise Saints' profile, which is on the up anyway. We could almost be compared with Cardiff.

This. Its our best chance of a trophy so we need to take it seriously. Somewhere local for selfish reasons though.

Bristol City or Swindon away please, probably the latter actually because Bristol is a bit dangerous getting back to the car park/station. Yeovil would have been good. A midlands side could work for me midweek but if it's London/SE/North then home draw please. Swansea/Cardiff away would be tough games although Cardiff might put a weaker side out for their first PL season.

Bristol City away would not be a problem, just wear our home shirt and they'll think you are a local.

You must have been about 9, had you just come from from one of your hospital committee meeting?

What an odd thing to bring up. Yes, it was 11 years ago so I was 9. Hardly an weird activity. I find it a bit strange that you feel the need to reply to the majority of my posts.

The worst team left in the competition at St Mary's. Not sure why any Saints fan would want anything else. Good chance of winning this cup, so the easier the route to the final the better.

Spoken like a man with no sense of fun. Peterborough away is best of both worlds. A game we should win, a fu.cking great away day and a proper terrace.

Fun is winning a cup at Wembley and going on a European tour next season. A match against Tranmere at St Mary's will likely see us have the best chance possible of getting to the 4th round. We should want the easiest possible fixture for Saints in any cup draw.

sadly, i don't think they are using that terrace this season. on all the games so far this year away teams have only been given seats on the side and i understand the plan is to knock down that stand.

i've got a feeling we'll get a home draw to a Premier league team.

Bookies odds of 28/1 doesn't feel like a good chance of winning it.

That said, I too would like weaker opposition so we get a chance to test the squad and give an opportunity to kids.

Yeah but most of us would prefer an away day so you can have a pi/ss up with your mates and watch saints with a good chance of winning. Of course the mates part probably explains why you wouldn't want that.

That's a real shame, was my favourite away day of the lower leagues and the terrace was superb with us in full voice. Be a real loss to english football to see it go.

Its a lot shorter than us winning the league.

I find some attitudes strange on here....this is a competition that the 'bigger' clubs don't prioritise, so it's one we should be targeting...day at Wembley and European football anyone??? I'd like the easiest possible draw at home please, all the way to the final, just like 2003 where we had the luck of the draw....
