(controversial) Would we ever truly trust Turnbull with the CB position in the Premier League? I feel that's the one position where our Academy players will struggle to get a game in the first team. Ergo, of the photo above, I reckon it'd be Turnbull that will be the "Terry Cooke" of that photo.
TK8267 Posted 27 August, 2013 Posted 27 August, 2013 Hmmmm, i feel Turnbull is in a good position to go out on loan a few times as CB is a position that requires a experienced head and therefore he has a larger timescale to grow, where as forward positions your expected to progress faster in the prem.... thats the only reason i think Sinclair will struggle more
Wurzel Posted 27 August, 2013 Posted 27 August, 2013 Interesting comparison with the ManUtd "kids" is that whilst they were developing they had the same first team manager throughout their career. Ours have had 3 or more in their time yet all have kept them on, suggesting all our managers have recognised their future potential, and/or the committee style leadership throughout all levels at the club is paying off.
david in sweden Posted 28 August, 2013 Posted 28 August, 2013 OK.....I can hear it now ... .. someone will say that..... it was only a team of our "reserves " playing a bottom of the League Championship side, and those lads were only on for a few minutes near the end.... BUT Perez said they train with the first team quite often and it's surely a testament to the depth of our squad(s) and that it's possible to raise up the next generation of graduates. If they show anything like the quality of Shaw, Chambers and JWP........then we will have an embarassment of riches....what shall we do with them all?.
