S-Clarke Posted 10 September, 2013 Posted 10 September, 2013 Wallcott needs to develop a football brain
Sheaf Saint Posted 10 September, 2013 Posted 10 September, 2013 That moment summed up Walcott's game. Great run and a terrible final ball.
Sheaf Saint Posted 10 September, 2013 Posted 10 September, 2013 I make that the first shot on target of the game so far. On 74 minutes. Brilliant advertisement for international football this.
aintforever Posted 10 September, 2013 Posted 10 September, 2013 The frustrating thing is Walcott's passes are never miss-hit, he just doesn't understand where to pass it.
S-Clarke Posted 10 September, 2013 Posted 10 September, 2013 I've seen better quality games in L1 tbh.
Cascadia Saint Posted 10 September, 2013 Posted 10 September, 2013 That moment summed up Walcott's game. Great run and a terrible final ball. Yup.
Colinjb Posted 10 September, 2013 Posted 10 September, 2013 Backs to the wall gentlemen. (Just as I type that, we break upfeild, Lambert plays a lovely pass and we get a corner.)
CB Fry Posted 10 September, 2013 Posted 10 September, 2013 If we crawl off the pitch with a point we've done well. Pretty dreadful stuff.
Batman Posted 10 September, 2013 Posted 10 September, 2013 This really sums up everything wrong with our game A fair few creative players on the pitch but set up for industry
Saint Without a Halo Posted 10 September, 2013 Posted 10 September, 2013 I can see why Dyke says we are not going to win the world cup till 2020 it will be down to Shaw and Ward Prowse by then
Colinjb Posted 10 September, 2013 Posted 10 September, 2013 I can see why Dyke says we are not going to win the world cup till 2020 it will be down to Shaw and Ward Prowse by then I'ld get them both in as an option already to be fair.
Saintru Posted 10 September, 2013 Posted 10 September, 2013 Commentator: Difficult to assess this performance. I have an answer: Crap
Batman Posted 10 September, 2013 Posted 10 September, 2013 What sort of tactic is it to bring a woeful young on and let him take the set pieces
S-Clarke Posted 10 September, 2013 Posted 10 September, 2013 Young should just retire, he is pointless.
Saint Without a Halo Posted 10 September, 2013 Posted 10 September, 2013 Commentator: Difficult to assess this performance. I have an answer: Crap yup sums it up
aintforever Posted 10 September, 2013 Posted 10 September, 2013 One sh!t free-kick and one sh!t corner - that is all Young has done so far.
Georgie Posted 10 September, 2013 Posted 10 September, 2013 So looks like Lambert is the scapegoat on Twitter tonight. Whilst he's not been great neither has anyone else.
Colinjb Posted 10 September, 2013 Posted 10 September, 2013 So looks like Lambert is the scapegoat on Twitter tonight. Whilst he's not been great neither has anyone else. He had an excellent first half. If there needs to be a scapegoat it should be Theo. Rickie's trying to do too much, daft flicks with every ball rather then dictating the pace and bringing his team-mates into play. He's forgotten what he's good at.
dubai_phil Posted 10 September, 2013 Posted 10 September, 2013 All set up for a last minute Rickie winner then
grezz Posted 10 September, 2013 Posted 10 September, 2013 Unfortunately SRL has been poor in the 2nd half. Given cheap ball away. I could find a few easier targets to shoot at in that England team though. Wilshere, Walcott, Walker, Milner.........take your pick.
Batman Posted 10 September, 2013 Posted 10 September, 2013 Only seen 2nd half. If I was neutral would say lambert was rubbish
Georgie Posted 10 September, 2013 Posted 10 September, 2013 All set up for a last minute Rickie winner then Lets hope so!
Smirking_Saint Posted 10 September, 2013 Posted 10 September, 2013 Panicing, abject, nothing but industry. Our real creative midfielder left on the pitch has been told to marshall the defence and the wingers have been poor indeed, Walcott has been terrible simply terrible. Lambert has struggled tonight, isolated yes but nothing has stuck to him. Its not just him though, the team as a whole has been aweful and has shown little inventiveness
aintforever Posted 10 September, 2013 Posted 10 September, 2013 Only seen 2nd half. If I was neutral would say lambert was rubbish A neutral would say the whole team is rubbish.
Smirking_Saint Posted 10 September, 2013 Posted 10 September, 2013 Only seen 2nd half. If I was neutral would say lambert was rubbish Same as me, missed first half, the only time Ive seen him involved he has been terrible. But then so has Lampard, Walcott, young, milner and Cahill Ukraine have looked twice as dangerous as us
dubai_phil Posted 10 September, 2013 Posted 10 September, 2013 A neutral would say the whole team is rubbish. BUT If they get the draw we need they are heroes
Batman Posted 10 September, 2013 Posted 10 September, 2013 Fuk me, what sort of control was that by young
Colinjb Posted 10 September, 2013 Posted 10 September, 2013 Same as me, missed first half, the only time Ive seen him involved he has been terrible. But then so has Lampard, Walcott, young, milner and Cahill Ukraine have looked twice as dangerous as us He was very composed in the first half, some excellent attacking moves went through him, the ball just stuck to him. Yes, his second half has been poor but so has everyone else in the side for the last 45 minutes.
S-Clarke Posted 10 September, 2013 Posted 10 September, 2013 Ukraine themselves are a pretty crap side. yet they look in a different league to us. Very worrying. Worst england side in my lifetime.
Cascadia Saint Posted 10 September, 2013 Posted 10 September, 2013 Fuk me, what sort of control was that by young That was 'anabsolutelackof'.
LGTL Posted 10 September, 2013 Posted 10 September, 2013 Thank god that's over. Get back to Southampton Rickie.
shurlock Posted 10 September, 2013 Posted 10 September, 2013 Woy set up for the point - got what he wanted.
Batman Posted 10 September, 2013 Posted 10 September, 2013 Probably be the last time for lambert for england
dubai_phil Posted 10 September, 2013 Posted 10 September, 2013 Take that Qualification now in our own hands Cracking Result
Batman Posted 10 September, 2013 Posted 10 September, 2013 Woy set up for the point - got what he wanted. See how happy he was. Back slaps all round
S-Clarke Posted 10 September, 2013 Posted 10 September, 2013 Probably be the last time for lambert for england Yep, probably. Sturridge, Wellbeck, Rooney all back for the next set of fixtures. Add to that Defoe will be involved as well. Nice 3 caps for him though and a couple of goals, but he's probably had his chance now.
Georgie Posted 10 September, 2013 Posted 10 September, 2013 Well that's 90 minutes of my life I will never get back. Unfortunately can't see Lambert being involved in next qualifiers once Rooney, Sturridge etc are back.
dubai_phil Posted 10 September, 2013 Posted 10 September, 2013 Probably be the last time for lambert for england 5 pints of OSH says it isn't
dan abnormal Posted 10 September, 2013 Posted 10 September, 2013 Desperately needed Carrick out there, looked so poor in possession its scary.
Minty Posted 10 September, 2013 Posted 10 September, 2013 Poor overall by England - Lambert had a solid first half but second half ended up losing his touch, partly because he saw the ball so little and couldn't get into the game, but he was far from the worst on the pitch, and the primary criticism should be aimed at the poor possession we had in the first two thirds of the pitch before it got near to Rickie. The promise of the first half gave way to a pretty turgid and predictable display second half. Standard stuff for England really - little movement or inspiration and players who should be able to pass 8 yards to each other seemingly forget how to do so.
