spyinthesky Posted 25 August, 2013 Share Posted 25 August, 2013 We don't seem to have the skill to break down teams who put 11 players behind the ball To be fair we probably did enough to beat a Sunderland side showing little attacking enthusiasm yesterday and I wonder if we may struggle more against teams adopting a defensive line up at home in comparison to the 'better' teams who like to attack. We may also be better away from home against the 'lesser' sides I seemed to me that Sunderland's formation did not allow us to display the energy we normally display in breaking up opponents play and hitting them on the counter attack
Batman Posted 25 August, 2013 Share Posted 25 August, 2013 its a skill most teams have the difficulty in doing. even those that spend £500m on their teams do at times
Convict Colony Posted 25 August, 2013 Share Posted 25 August, 2013 Chelsea v Barcelona in the Nou Camp being a prime example in the CL a few years ago. I wonder if any of our coaches on here know a way but I would of thought the only way to beat it is to move the ball fast before they can pack their defence and compress their lines.
