We don't seem to have the skill to break down teams who put 11 players behind the ball

 

To be fair we probably did enough to beat a Sunderland side showing little attacking enthusiasm yesterday and I wonder if we may struggle more against teams adopting a defensive line up at home in comparison to the 'better' teams who like to attack.

 

We may also be better away from home against the 'lesser' sides

 

I seemed to me that Sunderland's formation did not allow us to display the energy we normally display in breaking up opponents play and hitting them on the counter attack

Chelsea v Barcelona in the Nou Camp being a prime example in the CL a few years ago.

 

I wonder if any of our coaches on here know a way but I would of thought the only way to beat it is to move the ball fast before they can pack their defence and compress their lines.
