Looked absolute class when on.

Passion

Silky touch

World class talent!

He will be good for us - if he can stay on the pitch! On the way back Solent said they thought he was going to be sent off for a second yellow, although I didn't really see what happened?

A bit OTT if you ask me. He did look OK but nothing shattering.....not to say that will not come in due course though. He is clearly a good player, but nothing happened today to warrant such plaudits. In fact, I was a bit dismayed to see him strop straight off the pitch at the final whistle without acknowledging anyone at all - not his team mates, the opposition or the fans. No doubt extremely miffed by that ridiculous booking he got. Looking forward to seeing him play when he is more used to his team mates and the style of play.

He looked really great, on the ball and off. He really did show passion, he looked genuinely frustrated and not just when he was involved in. Celebrated with Fonte and was geeing up the boys before the corners. Great to see that he's settled well.

Mason and Friend are, by far, the two worst referees in the PL, but I think Osvaldo deserved his booking - it was a rather nasty, unnecessary little ankle clip.

And he's lucky he didn't get a second yellow - you could almost see Mason thinking about it.

Osvaldo's class shone through but he's going to be a marked man for the refs inside three games if he goes on like this.

He walked down the tunnel as soon as the final whistle blew too. John O'Shea ended up with a bloody nose at the end of the game.......

I overheard someone around me as I was walking down the stairs asking his mate if Osvaldo lumped him!

His talent was there for all to see, I am not sure what some people were expecting, but bearing in mind last year we introduced SDR as a 2nd half sub, I am well pleased with the direction and ambition shown by SFC in the last 6/7/8 months. He will go on to be a legend of that I am sure, I just hope we continue to offer him what he needs to stay here. UTS.

He will be different class once he settles. Such an intelligent player and his movement was the reason we started getting more opportunities in the second half. I think we have to accept though that he is going to pick up his fair share of red and yellow cards.

Surprised to see him walk straight off at the end given it was his debut.

Looked good, was nearly clean through a couple of times, just needs more time with the squad.

Reckon the ref bottled sending him off because the first booking was so soft, definitely would have been booked if he hadn't been on a yellow.

He's going to be top class when he gets into his straps, probably quite a few cards too - never a dull moment with Ossie.

Wagamama is something else - I can't believe we got him for £12M, Celtic got mugged and the top 4 must have been asleep at the time.

He's got to be right up there as most dominant midfielder in the prem, a real powerhouse. Have to say Morgan looks small in comparison and we all know how good Morgan is.

Quite a player.

Aye, but teh first was a daft decision by the ref... so at least he probably recognised it. Thought it was clear he is going to give us something special - love that passionate swagger, confidence and attitude. Sure he will probably get a few bookings, but a team needs a bit of that. Hopefully that attitude wil rub off a bit on Gaston, who needs that confidence if he is to adjust. Nice debut, see him playing on Tuesady to get into teh grooove and can see him scoring.

I'd be interested as to why he flounced off down the tunnel as soon as the whistle went. He looked frustrated, but with what?

Not getting a fairly clear penalty?

Not winning?

His hair not staying tied up?

Or maybe his team mates not being as good as he was lead to believe they were?

I think he is actually a level above us.

The question is will he bring us up to his level, or throw a hissy fit and rock the boat.

A bit like Ball and Le Tiss. Can MP get the best out of him and keep him happy?

I think that's just him, that's what you get with him. I don't think he's ever really going to make a solid connection with us, I think he'll score goals and win us games....but he'll have his strops and will probably forget to appreciate the fans in some games. That's the character he is, and in a way is why he wound the Roma fans up.

Were there two Osvaldos playing. I didn't see this one. The one I saw I only glimpsed occasionally and didn't see him do very much at all. Expect him to do better when he's settled in and has become accustomed to the team, but I'd say his debut wasn't one he'll want to remember except that the fans and the players welcomed him very well.

Think I read somewhere its what he does. Lies his football to do his talking, not into the happy pappy stuff.

Just watched the game again. You can see Osvaldo was frustrated by the lack of a good through ball from the likes of Lambert and Rodriguez on a few occasions. Conversely, you can see that him and Ramirez will click once they get a run in the team together. I guess we have to hope that Osvaldo doesn't become too frustrated with the slightly inferior quality of supply from those players not quite at his level...

P.s. Banega = missing piece of the jigsaw IMO

Perfectly summed up from what I have just witnessed on sky sports game of the day.

Players do that all the time if thy think they're in a better position.

Yep, no different to other players, Rickie does it too....

Btw, Osvaldo should´ve had an assist today when he sat up JRod for the header, must finish that one much better.

Yeah, jay should've headed that back across the goal. A lot of attempts at goal today guilty of being straight at the keeper.

he deserved, and should of been, sent off. has ability but bad attitude and will cost us points with needless red cards. time will tell but he certainly doesn't lack for fire or passion at least... just has to control it and he is a long long way from "a saint in the making"

Eventually Fonte found the net from James Ward-Prowse’s free-kick after new signing Daniel Osvaldo, having spent much of his time fixing his ponytail, was floored.

He should never have been sent off! Don't know which game tin were watching but compare him to Rodriguez and even lambert in the day and he looked a league apart.

When gaston came on you could see, the level of play we have an opportunity now to go to.

Class class player.

I would start with a front four if : Osvaldo, Lambert, Ramirez, Lallana.

In another day, we would have won that by 2 or 3 goals. One of those days.

This big time - he needs to wise up very quickly - no room for petulance in the Prem.

At the time I thought it was never a yellow - just a coming together.

On match of the day it showed it was a wild kickout with the ball nowhere near. Could easily have been a red in my view.

Hope MP can get his head right

in a game with a lot of niggling fouls, both on and off the ball, it was lucky a few more didn't get yellow, but it would have been unjust for anyone to have got a red card in that game.
