And yet they came away with a point and came very close to getting all three. They were very poor but clearly had a game plan to frustrate us and it nearly worked.

Myself and my friends were saying words to this effect.

Teams like Sunderland don't beat us at playing football, but they 'do a job on us'.

That may sound like just linguistic bulls*it, but you know what I mean right? They did the exact same thing to us in the same fixture last season and ultimately we've only scored once against them in 3 hours of football at home. Despite the 'brilliant front line' Di Canio praised us for.

I don't think they "did a job on us" given the opportunities we created. Frankly we dominated, and if the marginal offside call had gone our way would have battered them. Thereafter, both SRL and J-Rod had sufficient opportunities.

Cardiff, on the other hand, definitely did a job on Man City!

we utterly dominated.

thought we were OK in the 1st half, slow getting the ball forward

2nd half, it would have been a travesty had we not scored

deffo 2 points dropped

thought the CB's looked very solid

Wanyama is a rock

Lallana good in 2nd half

gaston looked very lively when coming on

have to be honest

lambert and rodriguez were rubbish. missed many chances

ref was terrrible

my MoM

JWP. he is excellent

Was pelle as bad as JayRod and Lambert were in first home game of last season?

Problem is we hardly created anything on Saturday and didn't look like we would either. That Sunderland game we created a lot more. Really think Ramirez would have been ideal Saturday - shame he's broken a finger nail again.

Yes we are finally playing a system that would suit Gaston (far better than JWP) and yet he never seems fit:( if we could get him fit and playing in behind Pelle he could finally come good.
