Just joined Carlisle.

Somebody that was often spoken about by players as being a really positive influence in the dressing room, and put in some good performances for us. Like to think that he played quite a big part in getting us to where we are now, so I would like to say Thanks Danny!

Good for him!

Always liked him as a player (seemed well liked by team mates as well) and he should have a really positive impact for them (especially as they are struggling at the moment).

+1. Well said.

Yep, agree with all that.

A great signing - exactly what we needed at the time and contributed some fantastic crosses. Two which immediately spring to mind are a long racking right-footed one that Guly headed home against M'boro (I think) and the left footed one to Lambert in the promotion clincher at Plymouth.

I heard he's a fun guy to have around. I always liked his name, too. :)

Thanks for the service and best of luck to him. I wish him nothing but success.

Good luck to him.

But looking back on his (somewhat infrequent) appearances here I can't honesty say I myself would go so far as to lavish superlatives such as 'great' or 'fantastic' to this particular player.

But each to his own I suppose.

Thanks for the service, Danny. Always looked like a classy player whenever I saw you play. Not everyone can be given the opportunity to step up to the Premiership, which for purely sentimental reasons is a shame, but you will be comfortably one of L1's best players and you are good enough to get football every week. All the best.

I would compare him to Paul Telfer, as an honest professional in the Roadsweeper role of the Lawrie McMenemy blueprint of a good football team where the Violinists are nothing without them.

Danny was a positive influence in our rise back to the top, I am sure he will have a positive influence on Carlisle. In these days of mercenary footballers it's always refreshing to see a player who just wants to play for playings sake.

Good luck Danny and thank you.

Thanks for contribution you made Danny on our journey, was an astute signing and is a decent pro, all the best at Carlisle - you will help them rise from where they currently are in L1

Helped them get their first point of the season last night. Past his best when he joined us but always gave his best and was a positive contributor on and off the field, hope he does well.

He played well against a good footballing side. Was happy to nod the ball out if ever in doubt and was pretty strong for Carlisle. Ryan Dickson was on the Colchester bench but did not make a appearance.

..was never going to be easy for a 30 plusser like Danny to get a regular spot in the first team, but he (and Dan Harding) were first choice full-backs in our promotion season from L1.

With the arrival of Richardson, he must have known his days were numbered, but he still managed a few games in the Championship, and played in the last half-dozen matches prior to our promotion to Prem.

A good pro (and by some accounts) and a good encouragement to the youngsters. Even at 33, he'll be a good asset to an L1 side and may (hopefully) have a few seasons still in him at that level.

Good luck Danny.
