I find it amazing how the comments moaning about people moaning about it, far exceed the comments from people moaning about it.

So, who is moaning?

im amazed about the amount of comments there are moaning about the number the number of people moaning about the people moaning about it.

I suspect it was just a kneejerk reaction to something that no one is overly bothered about but which is a bit cringy. That's literally all it is.

That's what I suspected, and tomorrow most will be fine with it. I'd much rather see the club promoting its (excellent) social media channels than using the seats as an advertising hoarding for sponsors.

If I could like this I would.

You could give a free blow job from Scarlet Johanson / Brad Pitt [delete/replace as applicable] with each season ticket and the haters would still hate.

This is neither something to get excited or agitated about.

The irony that so many post on here basically self-praising their own worldly roundedness at not getting excitable about Lawro, hashtags etc

Assume it is therapy

So a few people don't really like it and most people don't really care. Why the comments about panic, moaning and people getting upset? No real sign of any of that.

It's just the usual c@cks on here. If you don't like something apparently you are making a big deal out of it.

I have no idea why Saints would even want to publicise #saintsfc. Now @officialsaints or @SouthamptonFC, that I can understand, that might actually drive some business. #saintsfc is hardly going to deliver the "official" story they'd want to maintain.

A bit half baked, and utterly pointless. On the bright side, some people will get new seats, I noticed the ones in the Northam looking a bit weather-beaten at the U21s match t'other day.

I should be more annoyed about it, but it just smacks of desperate bandwagon jumping and shows the club genuinely has no clue what people want from them in terms of communication.

Bloody hell some people are really making a mountain out of a mole hill........they are seats for gods sake, when the stadium is full on a match day you won't see them anyway

I haven't seen one yet.

I am so glad you can derive so much meaning from one word. FWIW I am not sure I have ever used it before, it just popped into my head and seemed appropriate.

In a week that has seen the gassing of the Syrian people by it's own government, the painting of a hashtag on some red bucket seats seems somewhat inconsequential.

Using that logic, we shouldn't really care about anything because compared to gassing people pretty much everything is inconsequential.

To be honest I'd rather they fixed the internet in the stadium which is much more useful.

tbf that's not really down to the club, more so the 3G capacity in the area during match day. the St Mary's area doesn't really have strong coverage in normal circumstances, which is why it's next to useless in a packed bowl.

They could offer a guest WI-FI, but would need a pretty decent backbone to handling 32,000 IP address requests...

Don't really see it as a major thing at the moment, we get our HT score updates over the tannoy and I have a good natter with the blokes around me at HT. It's nice to see people talking to each other and not tapping away for once!

Correct me if I am wrong but are Man city not organising something?

Good point, anyone searching the #saintsfc hashtag will find a pretty horrific advert for the club.

Man City have got it using Cisco, probably the best solution on the market. Everton currently have theirs out being bid on by Cisco, HP and Ruckus. Liverpool had theirs installed a while back and it doesn't work, or didnt in preseason trials, they went for Xirrus, much to my amusement. There are several good solutions on the market that can easily handle crowds at SMS.

Shame we can't setup something instead of a hashtag on a seat. A decent mobile app would be nice too.

Evertons will have that. They'll also be able to vote for MOM using phones, get an on line programme on phone, on line betting and so on.

To be honest there's absolutely no need to use the internet at football for f*ck sake. Phones should be turned off and left at the turnstile.

True. There are too many helmets glued to their phones during the game as it is.

During the game, true. At half time and trying to catch up on all the scores from around the divisions (and verifying that my accy's are once again going down the sh*tter), not so much.

That would be good. Being able to check the scores at half time would be useful as well.

What is wrong with 3G? Signal fine 90% of time on Orange. I am one of those annoying twts checking their phone every 5 mins

On a related note, do you think we'll ever break from the football league template and have a bespoke website designed?

At the price it would cost for a premier league team with a booking engine, in the millions, I'd be surprised if it happened anytime soon.

This x10. 'I don't like going to St Marys cos there isn't very good wifi there'. FFS.

Things have changed though. Couldn't believe all the kitchens at the Chelsea game last night with bananaramas constantly on the go. It's like half the crowd are there to watch the other half of the crowd.

No problem with SFC chucking #SaintsFC on the seats. It could be a lot worse.

That's purely your opinion due to not being a twitter user. I know many people for whom following the #saintsfc hashtag is the first (and for some, only) source of keeping up to date with Saints news - before here (possibly why so many past posters have deserted this site), the OS , Echo or anywhere else. And it's certainly the quickest and most comprehensive way of keeping up on match days (apart from turning up at the stadium).

I think you were born about 40 years too late. Apart from anything, I use it to find out what's happening in the 50-odd matches I'm not at but am vaguely interested in.

You're watching the wrong streams then.

Seems somewhat unlikely, given that the latency of satellite or cable broadcasting guarantees they'll be transmitted slower than a simple 140 character message even if you don't take the rebroadcast into consideration.

Listening to the radio or monitoring twitter ruins watching live tv.
