Toon Saint Posted 22 August, 2013 Posted 22 August, 2013 What are people's actual objections to this? Just seems faux outrage for nothing in particular. Could do with getting wifi working in the stadium so people can actually use the hashtag, but nothing wrong with increasing awareness of our social media channels - which are a lot bloody better than almost every club in the premier league.
hypochondriac Posted 22 August, 2013 Posted 22 August, 2013 I reckon there are more people telling others to calm down and asking what the fuss is than there are people actually annoyed by this on this thread.

Could do with getting wifi working in the stadium so people can actually use the hashtag, but nothing wrong with increasing awareness of our social media channels - which are a lot bloody better than almost every club in the premier league. there are no real objections. people just fuking moan about everything/anything
The Kraken Posted 22 August, 2013 Posted 22 August, 2013 I reckon there are more people telling others to calm down and asking what the fuss is than there are people actually annoyed by this on this thread. Calm down FFS.
eharty9 Posted 22 August, 2013 Posted 22 August, 2013 I'm 40 and positively affected. I have no idea what it all means but i'm dying to kick off a good old game of noughts and crosses in the box thing there hahah
Stepgar Posted 22 August, 2013 Posted 22 August, 2013 What`s a hashtag? its a means to get something trending on twitter you can search for the hash tag example saintsfc and it will bring up every tweet (post) with that in the line. just realised that my keyboard doesn't have the symbol lol. (Mac keyboard if anybody knows where it is)
Brave Sir Robin Posted 22 August, 2013 Posted 22 August, 2013 What's the problem? I like it. Nothing wrong with keeping up with the times. Other clubs will follow for sure.
pap Posted 22 August, 2013 Posted 22 August, 2013 Everyone else will follow this decision, I reckon. Trailblazing #saintsfc
Saint_Jonny Posted 22 August, 2013 Posted 22 August, 2013 I think its a great idea. Fair play to them!
John Boy Saint Posted 22 August, 2013 Posted 22 August, 2013 I'm 40 and positively affected. I have no idea what it all means but i'm dying to kick off a good old game of noughts and crosses in the box thing there I Bagsy Noughts!! Having been evicted I can't work out if this season I will have an S A or Hash under my backside!!
Didcot Saint Posted 22 August, 2013 Posted 22 August, 2013 What are people's actual objections to this? Just seems faux outrage for nothing in particular. Could do with getting wifi working in the stadium so people can actually use the hashtag, but nothing wrong with increasing awareness of our social media channels - which are a lot bloody better than almost every club in the premier league. That's a top shout. 3G does not work in the stadium, well Vodafone doesn't, so if the club could provide WiFi, we could actually look at the Facebook and Twitter feeds before and after games.
Saint Benali Posted 22 August, 2013 Posted 22 August, 2013 Kind of pointless as it will never be seen...
sotonjoe Posted 22 August, 2013 Posted 22 August, 2013 I'd much rather have something cool like the name of a sponsor on the seats.
KelvinsRightGlove Posted 22 August, 2013 Author Posted 22 August, 2013 I reckon there are more people telling others to calm down and asking what the fuss is than there are people actually annoyed by this on this thread. Must admit I thought people would be pretty angry bout this. Pleasantly surprised by the reactions so far
Hatch Posted 22 August, 2013 Posted 22 August, 2013 Osvaldos idea I understand. When he walked around the empty stadium t'other day.
The Kraken Posted 22 August, 2013 Posted 22 August, 2013 Must admit I thought people would be pretty angry bout this. Pleasantly surprised by the reactions so far Why would people get angry? It would be a bizarre reaction. Its no difference to having www.saintsfc.com in the seat pattern (or flybe.com, for that matter...)

Its no difference to having www.saintsfc.com in the seat pattern (or flybe.com, for that matter...) Have you ever read this site? I find myself perplexed on an almost daily basis at the things people get worked up about when it comes to saints. I thought this too would be one of them. I was clearly wrong.
Batman Posted 22 August, 2013 Posted 22 August, 2013 Why would people get angry? It would be a bizarre reaction. Its no difference to having www.saintsfc.com in the seat pattern (or flybe.com, for that matter...) people got very angry about a design of a football t-shirt
hypochondriac Posted 22 August, 2013 Posted 22 August, 2013 Must admit I thought people would be pretty angry bout this. Pleasantly surprised by the reactions so far It's a stupid idea IMO and I'm not a fan but it has absolutely no effect on me at all so I'm really not bothered. I imagine pretty much everyone else would feel similar.
KelvinsRightGlove Posted 22 August, 2013 Author Posted 22 August, 2013 people got very angry about a design of a football t-shirt Or having not made 18 signings by the second week of june
hypochondriac Posted 22 August, 2013 Posted 22 August, 2013 people got very angry about a design of a football t-shirt Sort of a different scenario. Some people have an emotional attachment to the saints shirt and if they are going to buy it then designing an awful shirt directly affects them. I can't imagine anyone gives a toss about the seats.

I find myself perplexed on an almost daily basis at the things people get worked up about when it comes to saints. I thought this too would be one of them. I was clearly wrong. Fair point, but you'd have to be a proper loon to be anything but ambivalent about this latest "sensation".
KelvinsRightGlove Posted 22 August, 2013 Author Posted 22 August, 2013 It's a stupid idea IMO and I'm not a fan but it has absolutely no effect on me at all so I'm really not bothered. I imagine pretty much everyone else would feel similar. I'd be lying if I said I loved it. Like most, my thoughts are pretty "mehh".
Joensuu Posted 22 August, 2013 Posted 22 August, 2013 Not fussed about this. Thought #MarchingIn was the new tag, or is that just for this season?
whelk Posted 22 August, 2013 Posted 22 August, 2013 Want to engage - get a decent app so can view web content. It's 2013 boys. Great improvements from the comms guys tbf but site still ****e
hypochondriac Posted 22 August, 2013 Posted 22 August, 2013 Hashtags in general encroaching on television etc is pretty rubbish IMO but pretty inevitable that the club would get in on the act.
DuncanRG Posted 22 August, 2013 Posted 22 August, 2013 Not fussed about this. Thought #MarchingIn was the new tag, or is that just for this season? It's a secondary one for fans to submit pictures when they're off to games and the like. Used it last year as well.
Bearsy Posted 22 August, 2013 Posted 22 August, 2013 Not fussed about this. Thought #MarchingIn was the new tag, or is that just for this season? I find it hard to keep up, we was #shitshappening on the stadium exterior and #allin in for the kit launch
Isla Wight Posted 22 August, 2013 Posted 22 August, 2013 Not bothered either way really. However, as others have mentioned the club doesn't seem to engage with the fans much. Personally I'd like the club to spend some money on getting a P.A. System that works properly. Ever since SMS opened it has been garbage. West Broms P.A. System on Saturday was crystal clear. #saintsfc - engage with that. Rant over.
norwaysaint Posted 22 August, 2013 Posted 22 August, 2013 So a few people don't really like it and most people don't really care. Why the comments about panic, moaning and people getting upset? No real sign of any of that.
CB Fry Posted 22 August, 2013 Posted 22 August, 2013 people got very angry about a design of a football t-shirt And losing games of football. I mean, Delldays, who cares?
orchardsaint Posted 22 August, 2013 Posted 22 August, 2013 Hashtags in general encroaching on television etc is pretty rubbish IMO but pretty inevitable that the club would get in on the act. there were probably people moaning about having to play matches in the dark, rainy nights by using them there new fangled floodlight thingys. deal with it. move on. first ones to do something. cortese is making us a world brand. no ones leg has fell off. by the way, i don't use twitter, so don't really understand it, tbh
Dr Who? Posted 22 August, 2013 Posted 22 August, 2013 I like it, just shows we have our fingers on the pulse, up with media sources and when something replaces it, we get rid! All premier league clubs will follow. Why is this not on sky sports news? Media and all that. Good coverage it would be.
hypochondriac Posted 22 August, 2013 Posted 22 August, 2013 there were probably people moaning about having to play matches in the dark, rainy nights by using them there new fangled floodlight thingys. deal with it. move on. first ones to do something. cortese is making us a world brand. no ones leg has fell off. by the way, i don't use twitter, so don't really understand it, tbh Odd thing to say. Clearly haven't understood anything I have said in this thread.
Toon Saint Posted 22 August, 2013 Posted 22 August, 2013 f*ck that sh1t That's simply horrific. Jesus Christ. Wind up? It's not April is it? F*cking stupid idea, it looks gash. But, it'll be covered when the cameras are on it, apart from the odd photo specifically for social media. Outrageous! Should have stuck to having our own radio station and top notch catering! What a load of ******, will look dumb when the next fad condemns twitter to the same place as friendsreunited. So a few people don't really like it and most people don't really care. Why the comments about panic, moaning and people getting upset? No real sign of any of that. No sign whatsoever.
angelman Posted 22 August, 2013 Posted 22 August, 2013 who cares what is written on the seats? I just wished they got someone older than 8 to do it, as it looks really cheaply done.
Grey Crab Posted 22 August, 2013 Posted 22 August, 2013 I don't think it is finished yet. The actually hashtag will go around the whole stadium so it actually reads #saintsfcfansaremoaningc*nts
S-Clarke Posted 22 August, 2013 Posted 22 August, 2013 I find it amazing how the comments moaning about people moaning about it, far exceed the comments from people moaning about it. So, who is moaning?
orchardsaint Posted 22 August, 2013 Posted 22 August, 2013 Odd thing to say. Clearly haven't understood anything I have said in this thread. i was using your post to back up my post of saying move on. deal with it. it is encroaching on eveything, like you say, so deal with it. move on. not good, but the world doesn't stop turning.
hypochondriac Posted 22 August, 2013 Posted 22 August, 2013 I find it amazing how the comments moaning about people moaning about it, far exceed the comments from people moaning about it. So, who is moaning? Exactly. It's amusing.
hypochondriac Posted 22 August, 2013 Posted 22 August, 2013 i was using your post to back up my post of saying move on. deal with it. it is encroaching on eveything, like you say, so deal with it. move on. not good, but the world doesn't stop turning. No one said it did. There is nothing to 'deal with.'
martel Posted 22 August, 2013 Posted 22 August, 2013 seeing how huge twitter has become seems like a good idea.i feel like i'm about the only person who doesn't use it Gonna set up my own social network, going to call it twxxter, this will a social media for naming txxts.
Toon Saint Posted 22 August, 2013 Posted 22 August, 2013 I find it amazing how the comments moaning about people moaning about it, far exceed the comments from people moaning about it. So, who is moaning? There are also people moaning about those moaning at the moaners. For the sake of everyone's sanity wouldn't it be easier if those originally moaning about the hashtag explained their concerns, rather than deflecting the discussion onto those who have questioned their reasons? It's all a bit circular otherwise.
S-Clarke Posted 22 August, 2013 Posted 22 August, 2013 There are also people moaning about those moaning at the moaners. For the sake of everyone's sanity wouldn't it be easier if those originally moaning about the hashtag explained their concerns, rather than deflecting the discussion onto those who have questioned their reasons? It's all a bit circular otherwise. Are you now moaning at the people moaning about the people moaning about the moaners? arrrrgh. brain freeze. Looks a bit crap, but doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things.
hypochondriac Posted 22 August, 2013 Posted 22 August, 2013 There are also people moaning about those moaning at the moaners. For the sake of everyone's sanity wouldn't it be easier if those originally moaning about the hashtag explained their concerns, rather than deflecting the discussion onto those who have questioned their reasons? It's all a bit circular otherwise. I suspect it was just a kneejerk reaction to something that no one is overly bothered about but which is a bit cringy. That's literally all it is.
westmidlandsaint Posted 22 August, 2013 Posted 22 August, 2013 Bloody hell some people are really making a mountain out of a mole hill........they are seats for gods sake, when the stadium is full on a match day you won't see them anyway
