jim_bergerac Posted 21 August, 2013 Posted 21 August, 2013 Was under impression we had cashed in our sell on clause for Bale during our desperate times prior to administration. Am sure I read somewhere that we'll still receive a fee as part of a youth training sell on agreement? Anybody ITK. Forgive me, if this has already been covered in another post.
saints_is_the_south Posted 21 August, 2013 Posted 21 August, 2013 Yes, we'll receive a solidarity payment of 5% of any transfer fee.
hypochondriac Posted 21 August, 2013 Posted 21 August, 2013 Yes, we'll receive a solidarity payment of 5% of any transfer fee. That's a decent amount then TBF.
SNSUN Posted 21 August, 2013 Posted 21 August, 2013 I think I heard we're entitled to a development fee of about 1% of the transfer fee. So if he goes for £90million, we'd get less than £1million. FAR less than the £10-15million,I guess, that we've given up... Is 1% accurate? It may have been more. EDIT: Ok, above post says 5% so more like £4.5 million. That's a good sum of money then - covers the Mayuka transfer and the loss from the Forren transfer!
Batman Posted 21 August, 2013 Posted 21 August, 2013 That's a decent amount then TBF. throw in the £6m we got for him in the first place for a hot prospect at left back and the money we got that helped save us when we were in/about to go in admin bale was good for us in many ways
westmidlandsaint Posted 21 August, 2013 Posted 21 August, 2013 The 5 % is pro rata I believe we will get 2.5% as the 5% depends on how many years the player was with the club between certain ages. As we sold Bale at a young age I believe we are only entitled to around half the 5%.
