An interesting stat here:

We won 33 percent and lost 21 percent of the games in which Shaw started.

When he wasn't in the starting XI we won just 17 percent and lost a whopping 67 percent of our games.

Please vote for one of the following options (or rank them in order):

A. Keep Fox on the bench in case of injury to Shaw and/or play him in some games to rest Shaw

B. Put Chambo on the bench, then bring him on and switch Clyne to LB if Shaw is injured

C. Sign another decent LB (or a utility defender)

D. Promote Targett to the first team

If someone can make it a poll even better...

Urm there's only one option, Chambers at RB and Clyne at LB...

If it comes it Fox can go at LB and we start Cork in the midfield with Morg and Wanyama to provide more cover that side (as Fox will be a target).

No point in buying a player to be back up and no point in rushing Targett.

just read that Man.U are (supposedly) offering £10 million for Luke Shaw:lol: OK so it's a joke RIGHT ?...is it really April 1st ..or what?

Do they really think we need their money?.....After the size of the AOC deal to Arsenal a while back........I wouldn't even consider selling Shaw for £20 million....

Buttner is being loaned out I see

In need of first team football - with Evra in front of him, plus the Brazilian twins.

Shaw would be first choice still here.

I rate Buttner though, Solid and strong, doesn't get caught by the ball over the top (as so many attacking 'wing backs' do these days) plus he has weighed in with a couple cracking goals he has scored in his few appearances too. If Shaw was injured, he would be a great back up, but there is no point loaning out players to warm other teams benches alas.

I reckon Fox will be fine as cover this season - he had a marish season last year and dont we all know it. I still dont think that was due entirely to him being sh!te either, just one of those cr&ppy seasons where if anything could go wrong, it went wrong with Fox in the middle of it. I suspect he is a better footballer this year and (hope) that he has learnt from any mistakes and (PRAY) that he has shuck off the jinx of last year.

with the Clyne to the left/Chambers on the right/Corky 'He plays anywhere' and Maya able to cover FB too, I reckon we will be okay in this position. If Shaw plays 38 games, we will be excellent in this position.

Clearly B

Quite.

Targett has shown nothing in the first two... wait, he only played in one... in his one game against Chelsea U21s to suggest he's any more ready for the first team than any of the other Dev squad players.

Looks like we dodged a bullet there, I know playing back up at Man U would often be the case for a nipper (Master Shaw take note). But here is another story of a money grabbing parent cashing in on their gifted child way too early, instead of letting them mature a little more for a far better return......... Unless of course they might have known he was average and cashed in before the bubble they found themselves in burst.

B, C, D. 'A' is not remotely an option...

Fox was clearly as carp last year as he was the year before so last year was no freak of bad luck......
