Sotonman Posted 21 August, 2013 Share Posted 21 August, 2013 hey guys, just a quickie, Wheres the best/cheapest place to park on match days..ideally not too far away from the stadium?
Tokyo-Saint Posted 21 August, 2013 Share Posted 21 August, 2013 There are some free places if you are sneaky but generally you can't rely on them. A safe bet is to park at Asda and walk down. It is not too expensive (under £5) and a fairly straight walk down to the ground.
Batman Posted 21 August, 2013 Share Posted 21 August, 2013 Car park behind London road, near the Alex pub Couple of quid will be fine and 10 mins walk to SMS
the colonel Posted 21 August, 2013 Share Posted 21 August, 2013 Radcliffe Road on the opposite side of Northam Road from Britannia Road. go to the dead there is garage that charges £
ashleyb5443 Posted 21 August, 2013 Share Posted 21 August, 2013 Loads of parking the other side of the Northam Bridge and it's all free. Quayside Road or in the industrial park. Quick exit out of town if you are heading back to the M27. Only downside is that it's about a 10 - 15 min walk.

ashleyb5443 Posted 21 August, 2013 Share Posted 21 August, 2013 I haven't parked on the industrial park for a while so there may be some there. Quayside road is always ok though, I live there now and always see a few people using spaces here. Mattio Posted 21 August, 2013 Share Posted 21 August, 2013 People seem to park right under the itchen on the woolston side on the gravel and get away with it, I think its a lorry car park Sent from my HTC EVO 3D X515m using Tapatalk

100%Red&White Posted 21 August, 2013 Share Posted 21 August, 2013 Parking on matchdays is about to get a whole lot harder now with Lime Street Car Park disappearing with the East Street demolition, that's a fair chunk of spaces going.
Sotonman Posted 21 August, 2013 Author Share Posted 21 August, 2013 Thanks for the replies guys, im thinking asda is probably the best bet,as like tokyo-saint said, its fairly straight forward getting to the ground from there, plus i can nip in kfc enroute for a bite to eat lol. Colinjb Posted 21 August, 2013 Share Posted 21 August, 2013 (edited) College Street always used to work for me. No more then £5 and ten minute walk to the stadium after crossing the railway bridge. Now I just park at Dad's in Winchester and make a day of it on Public Transport so no need to try it anymore. trousers Posted 21 August, 2013 Share Posted 21 August, 2013 The small outdoor car park next to Charlotte Place NCP. 10 minute walk to stadium. £5. Need to get there at least 2 hours before kick off though as gets full quite early.
Red Alert Posted 21 August, 2013 Share Posted 21 August, 2013 The small outdoor car park next to Charlotte Place NCP. 10 minute walk to stadium. £5. Need to get there at least 2 hours before kick off though as gets full quite early. I park here, or in the mosque. Only a £5 and a dead easy walk. Takes a bloody age to get out though. Could ideally find somewhere that will get me back on the motorway quicker for my 3 hour drive home

Whitey Grandad Posted 21 August, 2013 Share Posted 21 August, 2013 The longer the walk the quicker the getaway. I part at Bitterne and the walk is about 25 minutes but the drive home through Riverside Park is very clean.

Professor Posted 22 August, 2013 Share Posted 22 August, 2013 Ocean Village is fine if you are going out over the Itchen Bridge but not if you're in from the west. Bonus at Ocean Village is cheap beer at Wetherspoon's.

mcjwills Posted 22 August, 2013 Share Posted 22 August, 2013 There is great parking next to Coalporters Rowing Club only a fiver a game and if you are heading Hedge End direction towards the Motorway you have avoided the traffic lights.
