The9 Posted 19 August, 2013 Share Posted 19 August, 2013 This is the danny Welbeck that scored twice and has been putting in good displays for england ? You mean joint top English Premier League scorer Danny Welbeck, right ?
Stoozer Posted 19 August, 2013 Share Posted 19 August, 2013 I think Gaston will play better with Osvaldo in the same team.
The9 Posted 19 August, 2013 Share Posted 19 August, 2013 I think Gaston will play better with Osvaldo in the same team. You would certainly hope so, or he'll be on his way. His only get out so far was that there was no-one capable of making the runs he could exploit with his passing, now that excuse has gone he has to start delivering. Unfortunately, he could also probably do with a break, he hasn't had a summer off since 2011.

The9 Posted 19 August, 2013 Share Posted 19 August, 2013 You would hope so but you can say that for the rest of the whole team. The relationship is nothing like as pronounced anywhere else on the pitch as it is between a creative central attacking midfielder and a mobile striker. Toadhall Saint Posted 19 August, 2013 Share Posted 19 August, 2013 Put in a shift. Look vaguely interested. Look fit. Last a game. Last a game based upon performance. Pass the ball and use it far more wisely. Cross a ball better. Take a corner better. Ill get back to you after sat. Personally I think he'll come good for us this season

The9 Posted 19 August, 2013 Share Posted 19 August, 2013 Is Osvaldo a mobile striker? I've seen him score goals by running past people with the ball, sprinting, and getting on the end of through balls on YouTube, so I'd say he was more mobile than the bloke we usually stand up there, and he's also more of a target man than any of our current wide attackers (eg Lallana/Rodriguez). From what I have seen of him is that he seems to be a target man who is strong and powerful, can use both feet and is good in the air, I didn't associate him with pace or an instant turn of pace. Smirking_Saint Posted 19 August, 2013 Share Posted 19 August, 2013 You simply cant appear to be wrong and state he has been awful since his arrival and has done nothing to justify the transfer fee, I would not mind so much if he tried, he appears to at the very least half arsed. Either he is substituted for being below par consistantly or a lack of fitness, you can choose, it cant be tactical all the time. He certainly hasnt lived up to my expectations of him but that isnt to say he has not lived up to the transfer fee, it was only 4m more than J Rod and looking at the discrepency in the Osvaldo deal was possibly not even that much. The crap you spout about him not trying is just that, crap, he definately tries hard especially for a luxury player. You can tell his quality aswell, good on the ball and not scared to try anything. Whenever I watch him he looks like he could make something happen. I think he will work better with a man who can play off the last man, in fact I think our whole tactics would work better. So no, he has not been outstanding but certainly good enough, scoring 3 goals and 5 assists I think, so helped along the way, in fact without him we could even have been relegated. Smirking_Saint Posted 19 August, 2013 Share Posted 19 August, 2013 Man of the match is wholly subjective and not really worth a bean, Baines played the best for us in my opinion. FWIW Gerrard was my MOTM, but Baines and Welbeck played well. Thats not the point exactly though, he is a good player

Thats a fair enough opinion, not going to go off on one, I personally think he is technically gifted enough to be Englands first choice for a while. We will see how it pans out, the same with Ramirez
Olallana Posted 19 August, 2013 Share Posted 19 August, 2013 Here Bazza, what happens when Gaston plays with players on the same wavelength (4:10 into the video if it doesn´t start there right away as supposed)
