I find it incredible that there isn't more interest. We've spent £70m in the last year, have a team packed full of internationals and exciting young talent and have made a good start to the season, yet still people can't get off their arse and attend.

Perhaps people are still on holiday, I don't think the schools are back yet. I have relatives who are away this week and next and can not go. Plus I know quite a few who haven't renewed and will be watching in the pub.

Kind of makes you think that any clamour for a 50k stadium is a bit unnecessary right now.

££££. The casual fans, especially families, will pick and choose and they will always choose the glamour games over the lesser ones, especially now tickets are hugely expensive for anyone over 11yo.

You seem to be ignoring how they do it in Germany and stuff.

You have to say rather than spending 10s of millions and reducing prices to fill it Cortese will be congratulating himself on a spot on ticketing price policy. Keep the price high and sell out or just about. As some of the more sensible poster suggested that this would happen rather than the ridiculous easy jet, dynamic pricing and German models that banded about on here to justify stadium expansion. It means some people will have to pick and chose games but for the clubs perspective as long as there are near enough a full stadium paying as high a price as can be charges then they've got spot on.

There are loads of reasons why we won't sell out that have already been mentioned. Our August home games rarely go above 30k in the BPL don't panic support the team however you can and enjoy the game.

Very much this. Went to WBA but can't afford to take me & the kids every week, sadly.
