Ed Rooney Posted 19 August, 2013 Posted 19 August, 2013 What about if he has already scored in the game and then scores another, how will gimme shelter song work then ?
Sour Mash Posted 19 August, 2013 Posted 19 August, 2013 He was wearing a John and Yoko t-shirt today, which was probably a reference to the first line of the Ballad of John and Yoko, 'standing at the docks in Southampton'. If we were as effortlessly cool as Dani himself, we would come up with a song based on this to show we got the reference. Good spot that.
Saint_clark Posted 19 August, 2013 Posted 19 August, 2013 Osvaldo, He's gonna score today, it's just a shot away. (Stones Gimme Shelter) Love it!

Playing on the pitch for Southampton, You know he's gonna get us a goal Seventeen on his back, and he's gonna attack ya The one and only Osvaldo *repeat* Can even clap along for those unable to stop themselves as it's quite fast paced.
sfc4prem Posted 19 August, 2013 Posted 19 August, 2013 Playing on the pitch for Southampton, You know he's gonna get us a goal Seventeen on his back, and he's gonna attack ya The one and only Osvaldo *repeat* Can even clap along for those unable to stop themselves as it's quite fast paced. Winner, winner, chicken facking dinner.
shurlock Posted 19 August, 2013 Posted 19 August, 2013 Playing on the pitch for Southampton, You know he's gonna get us a goal Seventeen on his back, and he's gonna attack ya The one and only Osvaldo *repeat* Can even clap along for those unable to stop themselves as it's quite fast paced. Pretty good. Possibly needs two verses for the chorus? the song is perfect for football, pretty status quoy and sing-a-longy
RedAndWhite91 Posted 19 August, 2013 Posted 19 August, 2013 I can't see any of these songs catching on in the Northam. Stones and Beatles good suggestions. You all know we'll just adapt one of our current songs to fit his name in, and then clap ridiculously fast until it fades in to nothing.

Playing on the pitch for Southampton You know he's gonna get us a goal The man in attack, seventeen on his back is The One and only Osvaldo Christ he makes it look easy We know how good he can beee The way things are going , he's gonna score another 3
jasonb Posted 20 August, 2013 Posted 20 August, 2013 So he's a massive Stones fan.. His favourite group... How about something really easy... To the chorus and main riff of I Can't Get No Satisfaction... (Clapping accompanying throughout) De de der ner neeeer Ner neer na De de der ner na neeeer Ner neer na (Chorus to the 'I can't get noooo' bit) Score us a great goal Dan-niiiii Os-vaaaaaal-do (Repeat) Back to the riff etc.. Simple, no lyrics to learn, just the riff and shouting his name... Feel free to embellish all you song writers. It reminds me of something Celtic might sing, be all up clapping and pogoing too... Well I can't stop singing it anyway :-)
forever a red and white Posted 20 August, 2013 Posted 20 August, 2013 How about to the tune of 'come on eileen' Vamos ('Come on' in Spanish) Pablo Vamos Pablo *LINE NEEDED* He came from Itallllly Repeat
martel Posted 20 August, 2013 Posted 20 August, 2013 Go... Any Pink Floyd songs that could be adapted? He is a massive fan! (NB No variations of the Cortese song allowed!) Just another ball in the goal ! (Brick in the wall)
suewhistle Posted 20 August, 2013 Posted 20 August, 2013 We all want some satisfaction, Give us all some goalie action Osvaldo, Osvaldo, Osvaldo, Osvaaalddoooo!

Not bad. That last line doesn't quite fit though does it? Not that I have an alternative to mind.

Bartosz Bialkowski Posted 20 August, 2013 Posted 20 August, 2013 What about if he has already scored in the game and then scores another, how will gimme shelter song work then ? Just a guess but replace "today" with "again"
notnowcato Posted 20 August, 2013 Posted 20 August, 2013 It would never happen but I would love to hear Danny Boy being sung for Danny O in the stadium but then I'm a sentimentalist with an Irish heritage.
DuncanRG Posted 20 August, 2013 Posted 20 August, 2013 Let's get that Gimme Shelter video out on Facebook when Saints make posts. It would be disappointing to hear his name go into a dire Seven Nation Army chant or something like that.
New Forest Pony Posted 20 August, 2013 Posted 20 August, 2013 I'd love to hear a bit more rock and roll coming from the terraces. We know that he likes Pink Floyd but I find their tunes aren't so chant-worthy. He also likes The Rolling Stones and I've had a couple of ideas based on their songs. To the tune of Miss You: Na na na na, nananah, Na na na na, nananah, Osvaldo! and repeat. And (my favourite) to the tune of It's Only Rock and Roll: [video=youtube_share;JGaBlygm0UY] I know, Osvaldo scored a goal, and I like it! and repeat. FWIW I think "It's Only Rock n Roll" works really well - with the advantage of being simple Needs a bit of work but something on the lines of "Osvaaaldo - he's gonna score a goal and we like it Osvaldo - he's gonna score a goal and we like it - like it- yes we do!" Alternatively change "he's gonna score a goal" with "he's scored another goal" or "he scores us lots of goals" or similar and it with him or a variation.
alehouseboys Posted 20 August, 2013 Posted 20 August, 2013 Viva Osvaldooooooo Viva Osvaldoooo When the ball goes in Hear Southampton sing... Viva Osvaldooooo ...or to keep it topical... "When he scores a goal, we all Rock'n'Roll"

jasonb Posted 20 August, 2013 Posted 20 August, 2013 Simpler still: Os-val-do der nerr nerrrr de nerr ner Os-val-do der nerr nerrr de nerr nerr (I can't get no) and repeat. Its got legs this one I tell ya' Just listening to the track again a few times... we need to use the ...and I try, and I try, and I try DANI OS-VAL-DO! It builds up so well From the start of the tune.... He scores great gooooalsss He's a saint noowwww He scores great gooooalsss (could change this verse for something else rather than just repeat like the stones do) He's a saint noowwww And I try And I tryyy AND I TRYYYYY!!! AND I TRYYYYYYYYY!!!!!! HE SCORES GREAT GOALS!!! DANI OS-VAL-DO!!!! Then all the derr ner nerrs can come back in.. maybe even start with them too... its so catchy... and everyone knows the tune.
OttawaSaint Posted 20 August, 2013 Posted 20 August, 2013 Easy one: Oh blah-dee Oh-blah-dah Oh-blah-dee OSVALDO! You know he's gonna score Saints a goal!
nathan Posted 20 August, 2013 Posted 20 August, 2013 I think it has to be Wild Horses. It's his favourite song and could introduce another slower song. Not much change needed. Wild horses, couldn't drag me away Daniel Osvaldo, we love watching you play. Wild horses, couldn't drag me away Daniel Osvaldo score a go-al today
niceandfriendly Posted 20 August, 2013 Posted 20 August, 2013 That Gimmie shelter one was a really good try but it's not quite there. Love the "When the ball goes in, hear Southampton sing, Dani Osvaldooooooo, Dani Osvaldoooooo" one though, to the Tadanari Lee Sushi/Viva Ronaldo song. And the "Satisfaction" suggestion might be good as well. Due to it being a tune that everybody knows and the "I can't get no" bit rhymes with "Osvaldo" so sure something can fit there.

Cascadia Saint Posted 20 August, 2013 Posted 20 August, 2013 What about if he has already scored in the game and then scores another, how will gimme shelter song work then ? Really?
Cascadia Saint Posted 20 August, 2013 Posted 20 August, 2013 I would like us to do alan partridge and be like "Dan! Dan! Dan!... DAN!" but I spose it would be quite difficult to co-ordinate. This. And when he scores we can all shout Eat My Goal as one...
Cascadia Saint Posted 20 August, 2013 Posted 20 August, 2013 [video=youtube_share;KEjY2kwIY_Y]http://youtu.be/KEjY2kwIY_Y Watch the video, this just works.
niceandfriendly Posted 20 August, 2013 Posted 20 August, 2013 Why? sounds fine to me. Can't see the Northam pulling it off, to be honest! It requires some singing ability to hit the notes in the melody! It's certainly not a bad effort, if it gets going then great. But what about after he has just scored?

niceandfriendly Posted 20 August, 2013 Posted 20 August, 2013 What's happened? Just realised you're unable to use words to get your point across? Yeah, I'd facepalm that too.
Bartosz Bialkowski Posted 20 August, 2013 Posted 20 August, 2013 What's happened? Just realised you're unable to use words to get your point across? Yeah, I'd facepalm that too. Its been said a few times before in this thread that's all..... its not too long to read.
Ohio Saint Posted 20 August, 2013 Posted 20 August, 2013 This thread should have been closed and stickied after the video was posted. It has now become yet another pathetic song for (insert name here) thread.
diggers Posted 20 August, 2013 Posted 20 August, 2013 To: we love rock n roll We love Osvaldo Scored an other goal n made it look easy We love Osvaldo Helping the Saint's up the premier league! Repeat till bored.
richard Posted 20 August, 2013 Posted 20 August, 2013 To: we love rock n roll We love Osvaldo.. On a similar vein: God gave Osvaldo to us, gave Osvaldo to us, Put him in the saa-aints To score goals.
Pastor Patrón Posted 20 August, 2013 Posted 20 August, 2013 Whilst thinking of hilarious songs for Osvaldo I found Lallana fits superbly into Vindaloo. "Lallana--nana". You're welcome in advance.
Ed Rooney Posted 20 August, 2013 Posted 20 August, 2013 Really? Yeah it would mean a change in lyric so it makes sense, saints usual singers are no good at that and may get confused and end up singing Pompey fan on a string or clap clap clap clap or steeeeeeveeee or lukkkkkkeeee

qwertySFC Posted 25 August, 2013 Posted 25 August, 2013 A simple one - to the tune of Yellow Submarine Seventeen is on his back And he looks like Captain Jack We all love our number 17 ..Dani Number 17 Dani Number 17 Etc Etc
ozzmeister Posted 25 August, 2013 Posted 25 August, 2013 Maybe a bit late as it would have been funnier to do yesterday but could we not just nick the Paulo dicanio song: DANNIE osVALdo, Dannie osVALdo etc..... It's simple, it's Italian, everyone knows it
teenagegsaint Posted 25 August, 2013 Posted 25 August, 2013 Couldn't we do the Fellaini song?? Dani Osvaldo, you are the love of my life Dani Osvaldo I'd let you sh*g my wife Dani Osvaldo I wannna look like Jonny Depp tooooooooooooo (Couldn't think of anything else for the last line)
Rut Posted 25 August, 2013 Posted 25 August, 2013 Just another ball in the goal ! (Brick in the wall) Exactly (with a bit of tuning) He's got a Pink Floyd 'wall' tattoo - gotta be (to the tune of 'Another Brick in the Wall'). Os-val-do - he'll put the, ball in the goal. or Os-val-do - he'll put the, ball in the goal. S! F! C! (whatever - it's the same tune) repeat... Perish the thought that it's slightly original... why not do one to 'come on feel the noise' by Slade cos you heard Man Utd singing it at Swansea... grrrh.
Turkish Posted 25 August, 2013 Posted 25 August, 2013 One Dani Osvaldo There's only one Dani Osvaldo CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP
