I wasn't at the game today but going by Mersons views who watched the game for SS, sounds like they have made 2 great signings for us. Being that he's skate through and through and admits it and still said what he has in the 2 signings gives me faith in what our guys are doing and that moving forward they will do us proud again. Sounds like the 2 signings we've made are top notch and if we do manage to get a striker in we really could break into the top 10.

Great result and well done all round, COYRAWM !

He has confidence in bringing the young players in. Same was true last season with Shaw and JwP and this year Chambers looked good today. I think you can almost look at the new lads coming in as new signings seeing a as we have let the old guard go the allow the youngsters to be blooded if they are good enough.

Worth pointing out, that under Cortese, I think we've made c. 36 permanent signings. Most of those have been good or excellent (relative to our position when we signed them). There have only been a handful of poor or average signings. IMO the only signings we should definitely have avoided are Forren (in hindsight) and Forte (not in hindsight!) .

The only poor to average signings I can remember were: Otsemobor, Seaborne, Dickson (again, in hindsight), De Ridder (ditto).

There are a number of that are too soon to tell, including everyone signed this summer, Gazzaniga, Mayuka, Jack Stephens and Harlee Dean.

Very approximately, I'd suggest that c. 64% of Cortese's transfers have been good or excellent. About 16% have been below par, and 19% too soon to tell. I can't imagine many chairman have overseen anything like this level of transfer success.
