I used to watch Brighton when Lawrenson was in the team, as I was living down there ..... Brighton's rivalry was all about PALACE. No-one else.

Lazy b@stard clearly has just looked at our last 4 home games and gone for the same. Do more research Mark you lazy out of touch weird shirted dinosaur.

Can't wait to see what Gary Neville predicts the man truly is a genius.

Oh! :scared: panic, disaster.......

** Lawro has predicted us ...to WIN !

Is this the end of football forecasting (as we know it )....from the " TV experts " ?

** If he's a TV expert , he can come and fix my satellite dish on the roof.

I only came on here to see what Lawro had to say and what we said about him. Seems like he hasn't done them yet. Predict he predicts 2-0

Prediction of Lawro's prediction.

I've been proved wrong time and again with my predictions about Saints losing. They keep surprising, consistently playing brilliantly, and in their last match played Hull off the park. They could easily have scored 7 or 8. They have no major injury concerns, and their players (especially the ones called up by England) are brimming with confidence. Their defense is rock solid. Arsenal on the other hand, despite their good start, looked very poor against United in their last match, and will miss the suspended Flamini.

Prediction: Arsenal 3 Southampton 1.

For once I'm inclined to agree with him. Plus, I fear the international break may have disrupted our momentum and shifted the focus of those away on internationals. The same could be said of Arsenal but unlike Saints against Hull they didn't perform well against Man Utd.

After Saints have beaten Arsenal this afternoon, I'd like to see Merson and Lawrenson on screen explaining not why Saints won the game but why they, Merson and Lawrenson, are incompetent as pundits and are taking their employers' money under false pretences.

If all of his predictions had actually came true over all these months, we'd probably be a million points adrift at the bottom of the league.

We'd be 10th. There's a league table at the bottom of his predictions that show what "his" table would look like.

F*ck me.

I wasn't on about just this season

I wasn't on about just this season

Last season "his" position had us finish in 17th. So, staying up. And 3 places away from where we did finish.

Have another go. Perhaps you're referring to the 2004/05 season? Oh, can't be, we did go down that season. The season before?

It just seems that most weeks he predicts us to lose, which others have picked up on. I made a comment in jest regarding that. It's nothing dramatic really is it? Not sure why you're getting into a fluster about it. Odd.

I thought I just picked up on a bit of a ridiculous and inaccurate comment from you. Sorry if you don't like it being pointed out that you're incorrect, which you clearly were. Whatever it may "seem" to you about his predictions, obviously isn't quite right. Sorry you find that a problem.

Just in jest though.

Don't you realise that if you dare to criticise Mark "Southampton to lose 10 games in a row" Lawrenson , you incur the wrath of Kraken, CB Fry and sometimes Turkish ? God knows why they always defend himself so routinely but it is a good way to wind them up.

I'm pretty sure all 3 are the same person to be honest!

Most weeks he's wrong with us. In fact he uses a "2 wrongs makes a right" technique to make his prediction table not so bad at the end of season: if a team is way out, he can predict a few wins (if they are too low) or a few losses (if they are too high), to move the team closer to the real position.

25 out of 38 predictions wrong for us (wrong results). On par with the proverbial monkey and his typewriter.

We also got 10 more points than he predicted.

Still laughing?

Just saw Lawrenson on MOTD2Extra where the panel were discussing Sunday's up-coming games. When the discussion turned to Saints, Lawrenson couldn't bring himself to make a contribution and just stared at the desk. Very strange individual. The journalist on the programme was talking about a lot of positive stuff in the weekend press about Pochettino and about Saints' use of young English players saying you had to hope the Southampton Way would be successful. Went on to say that he'd been at Hull on Friday where he was told that Saints had been the hardest side Hull had met because the Saints' players all play for each other. All Lawrenson wanted to do was talk about Chelsea. Seems he's got no idea about football outside of three places, London, Liverpool and Manchester. All the more reason for the BBC to dump him asap.

He's got some idea of what's going on in Preston I believe.

I hope he's right - we need to win tonight to prevent the sun setting on our tilt at Champions League qualification!

This. As the most optimistic fan on these forums, even I would kiss CL qualification goodbye if we fail to win today. :(

Just seen the prediction for tonight's Swansea vs Hull game. Talking about Hull's defence.

"The only time this season where they have looked vulnerable was in the first half-an-hour of their opening game against Chelsea. Since then, they have looked very solid at the back and this game looks like a draw to me."

The same Hull that we put 3 past after 37 minutes. Including Lallana dancing round most of their back 5 for his goal.
