We can easily go 4-4-2 with or big 'en and one little 'en with them two up top. Just need a bit of pace down the wings and get it early into the mixer.

Play with two banks of four, couple of grafters in the middle, chuck it up to the big man and feed of scraps

Lovely jubbly

Ill give you a ring on the blower then Ill be round in the Ford Cortina me old son

Couple of nasty bas*ards to win the ball back in midfield. Now who Is the new David Batty?

Reckon we should be in for Cattermole, a proper little player he is, always bank on him to mix it up and bring the steel when things get proper nawty.

Good shout. From what I've seen of him he also displays PASSION when plays. I reckon Lee Bowyer could add a bit of experience to the centre of midfield too. Go get him NC!

Ignoring the way we play then ?

Idiot

You really have little man syndrome don't you.

Sometimes to need to adapt your usual formation to suit what your up against. And you need the players in the squad to be able to do this

We don't have a proven premiership goal scorer to play off lambert up top. Only players to similar to him. Apart from Muyaka who won't ever get played in that role for some reason.

If we needed to play 442 Defoe would play off lambert a treat and feed onto knock downs and flick ons and grab a hat full

For 5 million IDE take him all day long as a squad player. Strength in depth and being able to adapt formation is key .

Defoe could also play off Rodriguez .

No doubt you would turn down Hernandez if we could get him on loan to.

I agree. 4-4-2 is the way to go, none of this foreign fancy formation nonsense, get it long for Lambos flicks and Jermaine can pick 'em up. Get it in the mixer, get it foooooooorward early, none of this poncy messing about with it and a good English spine, these foreign pansies don't like a cold february night in Hull. Pace down the wing, nasty bastards In the middle and a big man to get it up to for the flick ons. Don Howe had it right.

I prefer swinging it into the mixer early doors, myself. And plenty of box to box stuff from the terrier in the centre of the park, and the lad with good feet for a big fella giving it the eyebrows at the front stick.
