SO16_Saint Posted 13 August, 2013 Share Posted 13 August, 2013 (edited) Our nearly 2 year old boy loves playing out in our back garden. But our neighbours have started smoking pot in their back garden. Am I over reacting to be really annoyed at this, as I don't think it's right for Him to be playing out there with that affecting him. What should / could I do? Help / advice pls! Edited 13 August, 2013 by SO16_Saint
Bearsy Posted 13 August, 2013 Share Posted 13 August, 2013 You need to relax pal. Have a spliff. I'm no doctor but I think he'll be alright unless they're physically giving him blow-backs. It'll be no more damaging that the exhaust fumes or whatever that are drifting round ur street.

Stepgar Posted 13 August, 2013 Share Posted 13 August, 2013 Ignore the juveniles saying take a spliff. Grow up! I'd be mighty ****ed off. That stuff stinks! Why should you and your family suffer the stench. I would have a polite word with the neighbours if you feel you can. Start there see what happens. If it gets worse or no change make more of a fuss. But be careful about taking further with the police etc, don't want to cause real trouble for yourself. Hopefully they will respect your concerns and your baby. You're completely right Stepgar, what an idiot! There are a few idiots on here but this moron appears to be the worst of them all. Plus 1 reps for pointing him out. SNSUN Posted 13 August, 2013 Share Posted 13 August, 2013 I've tried pot before years ago - the first time I got really paranoid and ran away from a house party despite not knowing where I was, the second two times I just fell asleep. The Underground has a drugs and alcohol policy so obviously can't touch the stuff, but I wouldn't if I could, it stinks. I hate it when people brazenly smoke the stuff in public - especially worse for me as if any trace of it gets into my system on a day when I get tested, I could lose my job. Unfortunately for the OP, there's not a lot you can do I believe as it's their private property. Obviously you could report them, but I doubt anything would happen. Respond in kind somehow - maybe set a sprinkler on in the back garden that "accidentally" goes over their fence. If they call the police, I'm sure you'll have more of a leg to stand on than them! Or go all "Hot Fuzz" on them, with loads of guns and carnage. (That's my Muppet Show answer)
Bearsy Posted 13 August, 2013 Share Posted 13 August, 2013 The po-po don't arrest people for smoking weed at home no more. You need to wait till they start on the crack before getting the po-po involved.

Maybe just have a word to not do it when the kids are outside, no need to get any one in any silly trouble! Tokyo-Saint Posted 13 August, 2013 Share Posted 13 August, 2013 Are they smoking weed in the day time? If so, I guess it is just weekends right, when the weather is ok. If not, then take bear's advice and move somewhere else. No one wants mon -fri daytime pot smoking neighbors. Not outside of Jamaica anyway. Not a good idea to confront weekday daytime pot smokers either, they'll either be too stoned to care or be mentalists. Best thing to do is play on their paranoia, make some strange noises from the bottom of your garden, pretend to be voices in their head, tell them you are watching them etc etc

Your attitude is spot on of course, but I personally know two drivers who smoke, and take coke and ecstasy on a very regular basis. They've been drivers for quite a long time so obviously know their way around the system. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk

dubai_phil Posted 13 August, 2013 Share Posted 13 August, 2013 Don't bring your son on holiday to Dubai. Possession of drugs is a 4 Year automatic Jail sentence. Here in the UAE possession includes having Weed in your bloodstream, so passive inhaling becomes an issue especially IF something goes wrong, food poisoning. a Jellyfish sting you are screwed and into the Daily Fail.... Soooooo the issue is the Old Bill won't do anything so the answer is to book a holiday to Dubai then get an Ambulance chaser to sue them for harming your Human Rights to have a holiday. You win a zillion quid in compo, they can't afford any weed and you can save the rest of their stash for when I'm next over as my fee. dinger Posted 13 August, 2013 Share Posted 13 August, 2013 I really wouldn't worry, TBH. It's not going to be any worse for your child than someone having a cigarette next door. If they were doing it in the same room it would be an issue. It's certainly not worth kicking up a fuss with your neighbours about IMO. If you're worried about any kind of narcotic effect that just isn't going to happen in the open air. So the only issue I can see is having a discussion around what the smell is, and at 2 years old that's probably something you can work around. John Boy Saint Posted 14 August, 2013 Share Posted 14 August, 2013 Years ago a bloke round the corner use to grow hs own, one afternoon whilst puffing a particularly good vintage and washing it down with Gales HSB, the Jehovah's knocked on his front door when he invited them in they couldn't believe their luck. 4 hours later they were still in there climbing the walls to get out as he asked them endless questions about their faith then reasons for their answers. And all the time they had no idea what he was smoking whilst they all sat in his living room with the doors and windows closed.

pap Posted 14 August, 2013 Share Posted 14 August, 2013 Far worse things to be worried about. For starters, they could be doing something much worse (such as alcohol ) or they could be dealing. Back in the day, I used to be against all illegal drugs, largely because I believed all the crap we were told about them. These days, still not a fan of very hard drugs, particularly the stuff people inject, but equally, I'd rather have a pothead living next to me than a p!ss-head, who are infinitely more annoying, and will often scab pot from someone if it's going too. Obviously the Drugs and Alcohol people rarely come round, and in 10 and a half years I've never been tested, but I've pushed the alcohol side of it once or twice in my early Underground days and was lucky. It only takes one time to get caught and that's the livelyhood gone. We get a decent salary and good perks, we'd be stupid to risk it. I can sell you clean Pee SNSUNNNN, competative prices. Ohio Saint Posted 14 August, 2013 Share Posted 14 August, 2013 I live near a church. They keep ringing bells at all hours and chanting weird incantations......I don't complain about it though because however annoying it is, it is doing me no real harm. Frankly, I wish they just smoked a bit of grass and shut the f#ck up.......
