Badger Posted 17 August, 2013 Share Posted 17 August, 2013 Shows where Ramirez if JWP starts ahead of him, if he's in there to keep it more solid im very surprised he's ahead of Davis who was very under-rated for us last season. Still here's hoping he imposes himself on the game and makes an impression I expect Ramirez is out due to having just come back from a friendly in Japan as much as anything else. Avenue Saint Posted 17 August, 2013 Share Posted 17 August, 2013 Like the look of this lineup, buy a left back and striker, and we have all the tools for a powerful season! Disappointed not to see punch on bench. Come on you Saints!!

dan abnormal Posted 17 August, 2013 Share Posted 17 August, 2013 I expect JWP is playing the role that steven davis did so well for us last season. Great to see 4 academy players in starting lineup, how many clubs have done this? Villa? United?

Badger Posted 17 August, 2013 Share Posted 17 August, 2013 Wonder if this means Fox is leaving in the window, Chambers is ahead of him now and Clyne can play either side I suspect that might just be wishful thinking on your part to be honest. Matthew Le God Posted 17 August, 2013 Share Posted 17 August, 2013 Wonder if this means Fox is leaving in the window, Chambers is ahead of him now Chambers is a right back, Fox is a left back. Plus we need more than 18 players in our squad. The whole squad can't all be included on matchdays, some will be missing each game.
Special K Posted 17 August, 2013 Share Posted 17 August, 2013 think the inclusion of JWP has more to do with Ramirez & Davis playing on wednesday, alough this doesnt apply to Cork which surprises me more Cork should be at RB. For me, JWP is playing cos he has will cover Chambers more. Too young for this game is Chambers. Think he will be exposed a lot today, WBA are a canny team. latter day saint Posted 17 August, 2013 Share Posted 17 August, 2013 You thought Cork were starting instead of one of Schneiderlin/Wanyama?? nope, alongside ? maybe abit to defensive with the 3 of them in the middle but thought JWP was a bit further down the pecking order. Saint_clark Posted 17 August, 2013 Share Posted 17 August, 2013 Seeing the names Mayuka and Hooiveld named on the bench does emphasise the lack in depth of the squad. No, it doesn't. Mayuka will surprise a lot of people and once Yoshida is back Hooiveld will be 4th choice, which he is easily good enough for.
Toon Saint Posted 17 August, 2013 Share Posted 17 August, 2013 Seeing the names Mayuka and Hooiveld named on the bench does emphasise the lack in depth of the squad. To be fair, their bench hardly fills me with dread. We have Davis, Cork, Ramirez and Clyne to come on and do some damage, better options than what West Brom possess IMO. VectisSaint Posted 17 August, 2013 Share Posted 17 August, 2013 Yoshi is probably a bit jet lagged and wont have been 100% in training. No idea on Guly and Punch. Must be injured I'd have thought. Point is Gaston is on the bench, Yoshi is not, same game, same flights, why is one jet lagged and not the other. I am guessing Yoshi may have picked up a knock, didn't people say he had an awful game, maybe knock might explain that a bit. Anyway he's not playing and to be honest didn't expect him to start today, just surprised MP has gone with Jose rather than Jos based on pre-season. Might be that Pochettino has another option on the bench for CB (Hooiveld) whereas Ramirez is the only 'creative midfielder' in the squad ergo he has o option in that departmrnt. Who knows...
