reckon we will start with this

boruc

clyne lovren hooiveld shaw

wanyama schneiderlin

lallana jrod guly

srl

mulumbu tore us ragged at the hawthorns last season, thought he was exceptional in that match. him vs wanyama should be quite a battle. I would be so much more confident of a result with clyne and shaw in the team rather than chambers and fox, really hope those 2 are fit to start. puncheon to be used as a super sub this season

Am looking forward to this game tbh as I've had a CRAP week with being ill

so along with the Lambert goal on Wednesday for England am hoping for him

or someone else to cheer me up and I'd happily take a Point tomorrow something

like 2-2 even though a Win would be Great but will go for 2-2 with goals from

Long & Mcauley/Anelka for West Brom & Lambert/Lalanna/Schneiderlin for Saints

but we'l see!

Will be interesting to see if Shaw plays or not as Fox would have to be on his game

for once but we'l see

& I see that Wanyama may start too as well so Good Luck to him too as well!

Where are people Pre-match boozing then btw and Are we in Red tomorrow as well?

COYR!!! :D

They really wouldn't, it's one game. We could win it 3-0 and get relegated or lose it 3-0 and do really well. Not a team out there that doesn't lose the odd game. Judge the team on a decent run of games by all means. I think we'll have a couple of rough patches and frustrating losses in games we should win on paper, but also surprise some big clubs again and generally be 5-10 points better off than last season.
You think if we won 3-0 posters wouldn't get over-excited and a bit carried away?

You might disagree with it Aids (there's a change) but it's an opinion, and yes, they'd have a point. I know you don't like admitting that others are able to sensibly hold differing opinions to your own, but there it is.

Actually everything I've said is about respecting valid opinions. If something is subjective then have whatever opinion you like. I think it's fine to respect opinions more that are based on more than reactionary emotion.

If someone watching 10-20 games and disagrees with me on the team that's fine. Likewise for a player, manager whatever. If its 1 or 2 games as often happens on here, whether it's positive or negative, I'm not going to have the same respect for it, or any. I really don't see how that equates to not liking differing opinions to my own.

I've said several times the best threads and conversations with posters are people who disagree or bring new perspectives, have more knowledge and insight than me but know how to convey it and back it up with something.

I think you've missed my point. Bazza and Alpine may express their opinions in p*ss poor ways; but that's their undoing, often they raise perfectly valid points. The extremity of their opinion and the way they present it often gets people's backs up, and you're typically the leader of the fightback brigade who only seek to p*ss fire on the perceived WUM bonfire and take a totally contrary view. The truth of the matter usually lies somewhere in the middle and often gets lost in the black and white parody it all becomes. If we lose 3-0 then I'll have a few misgivings about the side and how much we've learnt from last season. According to you, that one result would have zero meaning and is not worth discussing. I can't ago along with that; I think it means something, even if its fairly small potatoes in terms of a whole season. I don't have to, or want to wait 10-20 before discussing the merits of this season's side. I don't think internet forums are designed around waiting that long to ascertain how well we'll fare come May. If you need to wait that long then fair enough; that's your decision.

We are Southampton we (almost) always lose our first game of the season in the PL.

It's The Southampton Way.

Deep down we know that is what happens in the same way we knew Rickie would score. (Just we never let ourselves believe it)

When it happens I'll just order another pint of Pedigree and discuss the positives from the game and look forward to our first win vs Wet Sham

Yep.

Unless I use home advantage properly and play you down here this month on one of our stupid long courses in 45C heat and 85% humidity :)

Have a great trip everyone who is #MarchingIn we're all #jealous but will be @barasti as usual using Eric's 30% discount card to keep the beer cost down to 6 quid a pint.

I am leaving for this one in around an hour and really not very excited by the prospect of it. Not sure if I am being far more negative than usual or just that on my previous 3 trips to WBA we have lost. Hopefully we can snatch something and really get underway next week.

I know this has been goneover ad nauseam, and I also know that if I do find a stream it will seize up directly before any goal and it will be jerky and frustrating the rest of the time. Despite that, I thought firstrow and wiziwig had been disabled somehow? I am in Oz, don't know if it is different over here
