NBC (think BBC/ITV) have got the Prem in the USA next year. They are pumping out the ads etc. This one gives SFC a nice bit of quality real estate in NYC. Good to see them giving us stripes.

I was in New York last month. Around the corner from Time Square was a huge poster of Gareth Bale celebrating a goal.

Say whatyou likeabout Americans - they know how to promote a product.

I went to the Los Angeles Olympics and had tickets to watch the match between USA and I think it was Italy if I remember correctly.

Well, needless to say, the stadium was packed with Yanks who hadn't ever been to see a "Soccer" match before and barely 15 minutes had passed before the guy beside me decided to ask the Limey who would know about these things, "when are they going to call a time out?" He was incredulous that the match would consist of two halves of 45 minutes each with no other breaks. He also thought that there might be a specialist kicker who could be brought on just to take free kicks.

There was a report during USA 94 that American housewives liked soccer compared to American football as they knew what time the game was going to finish and the husband would be home from the Bar.

Surprised no one has commented on the fact that it's got stripes behind our name...

Oops, apart from the fact that Rut did in the OP...

That IS a nice bit of real estate they've given us. I like it. Sadly, I work in "Chelsea" and live in "WBA" so that's disappointing. But I wish I lived in "Southampton."

They've missed a trick with the location of Chelsea...

Shame they missed out Long Island. They could have put Southampton in... Southampton.

There was a very confused, very camp man at the bar in Legends Bar when I was in NY watching Saints stuff Reading last season who just could not get his head around the concept that THIS Southampton wasn't on Long Island. I believe the reason he was in the bar in the first place was because it was open at 7am (for the match).

Bein completely ignorant, what part of Manhattan is it?

It's Chinatown, Tribeca and the financial quarter - Wall Street and all. They must know about our stadium expansion plans.

That just looks like a multi-coloured picture of c*ck and balls dangling in to something :|

You have somehow managed to sound like an American getting football wrong, while talking about New York. The Financial District (not quarter) has actually been given to Chelsea.

Have West Ham been given a shed in someones back garden?

Google maps shows a tag saying "Tudor City" around that area, so maybe a reference to the Boleyn Ground?

Also Stoke on the upper east side is just wrong.

This is correct.

Southampton has been given the areas north of Chambers Street (give or take a block) up to Canal Street / the Manhattan Bridge overpass. In this area you'll find many government offices and the judicial center, as well as some of Tribeca (very nice location), a large portion of Chinatown, and some buildings owned by New York City Housing Authority. So it's a mix. It's not the nicest places in the city, but I can think of many worse.

I'm not sure why Chelsea didn't get Chelsea. Stoke City located in Spanish Harlem is pretty funny, though.
