Saint Garrett Posted 7 January, 2014 Author Share Posted 7 January, 2014 Oh yeah forgot about that diver Janazaj! Pop him in over Welbeck. Prob not far away. When was the last time we were this close to being as good as Man Utd?! Not in my lifetime I don't think....!
Nigel=God-Poyet=Sod Posted 7 January, 2014 Share Posted 7 January, 2014 If Boruc is fit, I would definitely have him ahead of De Gea.
SaintBobby Posted 8 January, 2014 Share Posted 8 January, 2014 Am just starting to believe I might prefer our midfield (if everyone fit). They are stronger at the back though and much stronger up front.
NickG Posted 26 February, 2014 Share Posted 26 February, 2014 Schneiderlin Lallana Wanyama Rodriguez Cork Davis JWP Ramirez I wonder how many of those Man U's fans would have preferred this season? I'm sure they wouldn't have wanted them as signings (not Mata level) but equally sure most could have done better for them this season than what they had. Batman Posted 26 February, 2014 Share Posted 26 February, 2014 Lallana would be about it. I should imagine
farawaysaint Posted 26 February, 2014 Share Posted 26 February, 2014 Lallana would be about it. I should imagine Lallana, Schneiderlin and Wanyama pre injury all look better than their current midfield options in their respective positions. (I am in no way disrespecting JC as he has been very good but I think Wanyama is a better player despite recent evidence to the contrary).

That's not difficult though.
Sour Mash Posted 26 February, 2014 Share Posted 26 February, 2014 What's the definition of "midfield"? How much has United's problem this season been down to mis-management? They've got players who have won league titles, Champs League runs in that squad, just performing very poorly this year.
dellboypete Posted 26 February, 2014 Share Posted 26 February, 2014 Having watched them last night I suspect most of the prem teams have a better midfield, and defence

david in sweden Posted 26 February, 2014 Share Posted 26 February, 2014 interesting thought that Man.U are showing " occasional " signs of "imploding " despite their star-studded personalities, and only a few months before a World Cup:scared: Rooney is their only real (English) star this season, but if I were Hodgson (thankfully not) .... I'd be having serious misgivings about some other " MU names " who have regularly appeared on past team sheets.

True dat, but I expect he will still prefer to take a handful of MU players based on "their experience at international level." Can't get experience if you aren't given it. Self-fulfilling prophecy. Saint Garrett Posted 26 February, 2014 Author Share Posted 26 February, 2014 It's a very good opportunity for Hodgson to not pick a load of Man Utd reserves in this squad. If we had a bit longer until the world cup then he might even not take many to the WC. But what normally happens is we take a load of players on reputation, and then a couple on form. Still think the majority of Man Utd English players will go. Rooney, Carrick, Cleverley, Smalling and Jones will probably all be on the place to Brazil. No idea how. Smirking_Saint Posted 26 February, 2014 Share Posted 26 February, 2014 Ageing Defence and Midfield, Moyes sacking his entire backroom staff and thus killing his integration. Realistically I think they would take Morgan and perhaps Lallana though in reality Mata plugged that gap for them. They still need a couple of defensive midfielders, despite Cork impressing I dont think he is Utd quality. A lot will depend on Moyes next few transfers. jasonb Posted 26 February, 2014 Share Posted 26 February, 2014 I just hope there is something in it for them come the last day of the season.. I dunno... pipping Everton for 6th or something. Then we smash them and get to count the clock down at the end of the game like their fans did when we were relegated. #neverforget

Surely isn't ....always play your best in-form players? .....aside from Rooney (who barring injury) will certainly go .....I've not been over-impressed by many of the others in recent months. Having played a load of friendlies during the last year . I can't see how they can raise their game enough to play the top sides in Brazil . The display in Greece on Tuesday was one of the worst I've seen from any English side in many-a-year. David Moyes has some serious planning on his hands this summer with Vidic and Ferdinand on the way out, I can't see Jones, Smalling or Cleverley as a viable alternatives......and for all his " so-called " passing skills I think Carrick is a waste of space. Window Cleaner Posted 27 February, 2014 Share Posted 27 February, 2014 He isnt but he has been poor this year probably because he's been isolated due to the rubbish partners that he's been given. Playing with a good player can make you look better than you are, playing with a bad player can completely destroy a decent player.
