pingwing Posted 14 August, 2013 Posted 14 August, 2013 I can't believe that happened! Greatest moment watching England in a very very long time!
itchen_dan Posted 14 August, 2013 Posted 14 August, 2013 Good point brought up by Bristol Rovers fans, are they due any instalment money after that cap and possibly goal?
aintforever Posted 14 August, 2013 Posted 14 August, 2013 He better not celebrate too much he's got a f*cking game on Saturday.
Cascadia Saint Posted 14 August, 2013 Posted 14 August, 2013 So pleased for you SRL and Saints. Absolute Magic well done! I think somebody early in the thread called this a bit like his first Prem goal coming on as sub. Good call COYR I trust him to deliver a hell of a lot more than any other current England striker, that's for sure.
S-Clarke Posted 14 August, 2013 Posted 14 August, 2013 Good point brought up by Bristol Rovers fans, are they due any instalment money after that cap and possibly goal? Talk of anything between 100-250k. Hope they do get it, they were a huge part in his rise as well.
Cascadia Saint Posted 14 August, 2013 Posted 14 August, 2013 I can't believe that happened! Greatest moment watching England in a very very long time! Absolutely! Good moments have been thin on the ground in recent times.
SNSUN Posted 14 August, 2013 Posted 14 August, 2013 Remember the impact Rickie had when he came on as a sub against City at the start of last season... So pleased for you SRL and Saints. Absolute Magic well done! I think somebody early in the thread called this a bit like his first Prem goal coming on as sub. Good call COYR
Strangely Brown Posted 14 August, 2013 Posted 14 August, 2013 What a story. I am so glad to have witnessed this journey culminating in a debut goal for England, that is legendary status cemented right there. Brilliant just brilliant.
Batman Posted 14 August, 2013 Posted 14 August, 2013 What's pompey forum making of it? http://fansonline.net/portsmouth/mb/view.php?id=508619
mulletsaint Posted 14 August, 2013 Posted 14 August, 2013 Absolutely chuffed for the man. Don't think anyone could have hoped for better. Just hope the miss doesn't do him too much harm. Would like to see how much the defender got on it.
Legod Third Coming Posted 14 August, 2013 Posted 14 August, 2013 Couldn't be arsed to watch England normally. But that had me in tears! Could not have happened to a nicer fella. So pleased for him. Beetroot Packer!!!!
Jimmy_D Posted 14 August, 2013 Posted 14 August, 2013 Yeah, as soon as the talking's done on this, this is going in Golden Theads. Can't remember the last time I enjoyed an England game this much.
Special K Posted 14 August, 2013 Posted 14 August, 2013 I'd love it if he went there and got a brace of goals, absolutely love it. Almost Rickie, almost.
Viking Saint Posted 14 August, 2013 Posted 14 August, 2013 What's pompey forum making of it? to be honest....I really couldn't care one iota.....Rickie's night and we can take pride in it....
Plumstead_Saint Posted 14 August, 2013 Posted 14 August, 2013 Wow - made up for Rickie. Best ever England Friendly Gutted he didn't get the 2nd one too though. Cheers for all the freeze-frames above - 1st one is a must-have. Let's hope he gets another chance in an England shirt.
Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 14 August, 2013 Posted 14 August, 2013 Does this mean we are not selling Rickie to Reading then?
david in sweden Posted 14 August, 2013 Posted 14 August, 2013 Roy of the Rovers stuff! Well chuffed for Rickie, what a debut ....or do you mean Woy of the Rovers. Rickie certainly saved his bacon.....what a game.
Batman Posted 14 August, 2013 Posted 14 August, 2013 this game should be played every year. one year in scotland, next year in england etc or, get rid of the community shield and play this game
BigShadow Posted 14 August, 2013 Posted 14 August, 2013 Don't think I could feel much prouder if he was my own son. Congratulations Rickie.
Colinjb Posted 14 August, 2013 Posted 14 August, 2013 What's pompey forum making of it? There is a thread on POL entitled: "Noooooooooooooooooooooooo" They are being quite gracious all things considered. Justified his call up, first touch, quality header. Done more in a few mins than Rooney did for 67 minutes ffs.
CaneNero Posted 14 August, 2013 Posted 14 August, 2013 http://fansonline.net/portsmouth/mb/view.php?id=508619 lol!
RonManager Posted 14 August, 2013 Posted 14 August, 2013 this game should be played every year. one year in scotland, next year in england etc or, get rid of the community shield and play this game Agreed, I've missed it. Hopefully all will be cool on the streets after the match tonight.
SNSUN Posted 14 August, 2013 Posted 14 August, 2013 KUDOS to Steven Davis too, cracking result for Northern Ireland against Russia.
Stu Man Do Posted 14 August, 2013 Posted 14 August, 2013 Feel like a proud dad! So pleased for Rickie! Absolutely love the guy, hopefully more to come! England need to stick to this play like England stuff rather than attempting to be a budget version of a decent team!
ottery st mary Posted 14 August, 2013 Posted 14 August, 2013 Sir Riikeee Lambert..you beaut.. Well done.... SRL...SUPERSTAR:)
SNSUN Posted 14 August, 2013 Posted 14 August, 2013 Rickie about to score on ITV1 +1 !!! Great shout! Caught it!
Hatch Posted 14 August, 2013 Posted 14 August, 2013 sorry to disrupt the thread, but what was that that came on for Miller just after the goal... I was genuinely disturbed by it. and it turns out he is only 22
Batman Posted 14 August, 2013 Posted 14 August, 2013 sorry to disrupt the thread, but what was that that came on for Miller just after the goal... I was genuinely disturbed by it. and it turns out he is only 22 bet he has a smoking hot missus
Lallana's Left Peg Posted 14 August, 2013 Posted 14 August, 2013 For those of you who recorded the ITV programme, because you had an inkling something like this may happen, you'll be wanting to skip straight to about 118mins. Absolutely delighted for him. Whatever happens in his career now, he has fulfilled most of his dreams I would imagine, and all whilst playing in League 1 or below until he was 29. Crazy.
Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 14 August, 2013 Posted 14 August, 2013 Is there a limit to how many times you can watch that goal before it becomes creepy?
SNSUN Posted 14 August, 2013 Posted 14 August, 2013 sorry to disrupt the thread, but what was that that came on for Miller just after the goal... I was genuinely disturbed by it. and it turns out he is only 22 Richard Chaplow in the making. I'd shave it all off, if that were me. Which it's not. Because I'm much better looking. And have more hair.
trousers Posted 14 August, 2013 Posted 14 August, 2013 http://www.thefa.com/england/News/2013/rickie-lambert-reaction-140813.aspx
RonManager Posted 14 August, 2013 Posted 14 August, 2013 bet he has a smoking hot missus He has, and 2 kids. Also he's a feckin' good footballer, pretty much solely responsible for keeping Hibs in the SPL last season. Now back with his parent club, Wolves and knockin' em for fun in L1.
TK8267 Posted 14 August, 2013 Posted 14 August, 2013 I'm so happy for him! The only thing that makes me sad is that he is trending on twitter with a Fcking Y not IE!
dwheeler52 Posted 14 August, 2013 Posted 14 August, 2013 James Corden bigging up Ricky on talk sport now! He has said it shows that Ricky was hungry and being the top English scorer showed his passion to play for England!
trousers Posted 14 August, 2013 Posted 14 August, 2013 Henry Winter @henrywinter10m Hodgson: "It's a fairy-tale for Lambert.'' Adds Sturridge and Carroll to return but "Lambert won't be struck off my list lightly' #eng
hypochondriac Posted 14 August, 2013 Posted 14 August, 2013 Henry Winter @henrywinter10m Hodgson: "It's a fairy-tale for Lambert.'' Adds Sturridge and Carroll to return but "Lambert won't be struck off my list lightly' #eng ****. The fact he mentions striking him off his list at all says it all.
Saint_clark Posted 14 August, 2013 Posted 14 August, 2013 ****. The fact he mentions striking him off his list at all says it all. Yeah, basically saying "He's gone, but I want to make it sound like a tough decision". Anyone else notice how p*ssed off he looked after Lambert scored? Looked like he was thinking "Well that backfired".
