What clubs do people hate (other than Pompey obviously) with or without good reason?

For me I can't stand QPR, there spending spree last season coupled with their **** of a manager and the fact that they still have that tw*t Barton just makes me hate them

United. Just the hypocrisy of their plastic fans.

These will be the same ones saying that there's too much money in football, but only on the basis that their dominance might be under threat, plus of course its come from television money fuelled by their countless armchair fans across the country and indeed the globe who tune in to Sky to support the world's biggest club.

Manchester United are the Kanye West of football and have forever appealed to the same kind of ignorant fanboy.

Not overly fussed about Redknapp but purely for TF and his spending policy since he has been there I hate them.

WHU and Liverpool are also well up in my hatred radar, their fans are just uber ****s and they hang off some past glory.

Other than that meh

Don't hate any club. What I don't like is the attitude that certain clubs have that they have a right to be where they are or higher (at someone else's expense). Liverpool seem to be a prize example, as they think that their natural habitat is Nº1 when in reality they haven't been anywhere near for decades.

I also don't like the way that money has ruined football, and therefore I like to see those that spend the most fail. That really is Man City and Chelsea who have spent way way beyond their incomes. To a lesser extent, the same can be levelled at us. However, the net spend from our relegation to L1 until the start of last season was something like £17m, which really isn't very much. We have spent another net £16m or so (presuming we got something back for Forren) this season, which I presume can be covered by TV payments, so we live within our means and don't rack up £100m annual debts.

I do worry about the amount we spend and hope we don't do a Pompey. I have faith in the Chairman to temper those worries. Anyway, I hanker for the 1970s/1980s where we and most other teams could compete to win the 1st Div. Others that I find spend far too much for their turnover in order to gain a competitive advantage are the likes of Leicester, Birmingham, West Ham, QPR, etec etc. I do find it risible how the papers were intimating how foolish they thought we were by cashing in Bale's sell on clause for Forecast and upfront payment, but I look at it that we tried to do the right thing financially.

Anyway, I ramble. The press (inc Sky, BT, talksport, etc etc) have made me dislike ManU, Man C, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and Spurs as it seems that these are the only teams involved in PL.

I have a new found hate of Liverpool. The fans are delusional and none of them seem to be from Liverpool. They're all Irish or Scandinavian. I was on a flight from Liverpool to Dublin on Saturday and it was full of the ****ing idiots, all spouting on about how it's their right to win the Premiership. The final straw was as we were waiting to get off the plane and they started pushing and shoving each other. Nobody was hurt but of all the fans in the world you'd think they'd know better. Absolute ****s.

Don't really hate any clubs, but I've certainly got a dislike for a few other clubs fans. Apart from Skates, I have a huge problem with Aston Villa fans. Moaning, booing their team and think they should be champions league still. Especially that pitch invasion on the last day of the season at he dell a few years back. Always seam to get too close to fisty cuffs whenever they are down or when I've been there. Also really don't care for Bristol City fans, lairy bumpkins, Birmingham city, self pitying inner city low lifes. - How else? My most disliked southern club is Plymouth, ****e kit, shoyte fans, shoyte team, terrible place to visit. - Probably a few more too but I'll come back to a second helping in a while.

For me its not so much the clubs but I do (Island dwellers and Spurs) but the fans and the worst by a long long way are the suburban London overspill Mockney Cockney fans, thinking they are wide boys yet reside in such places as Basingstoke, Stevenage and Tonbridge, complete blends.

It wouldnt have been their fault. It was down to the pilot, for not opening the doors quickly enough.

I shall provoke the usual outrage from the usual suspects by stating that I don't hate any clubs, or fans.

There have been many previous debates on here about atmosphere and how "hatred" is a part of football culture, and long may it remain so.

This is not something I will ever agree with. Last summer the Olympic stadium managed to create an unrivaled atmosphere with the absence of hatred. The same could be said about the Ashes. Why would you turn up at Lords and hate the colletion of Australians sat near to you? You wouldn't.

No single football club is different to any other, all have their collection of idiots. I'm sure there are plenty of incidents of away fans coming down here and having a bad experience after bumping into some ****ed up thug. They'll be on forums now stating "Southampton, just hate them" I expect.

Next time you're in the pub and you see a bloke in a Stoke shirt, why not spark up a conversation? You might find they're quite similar to you.

clubs, or do we mean....teams?. Sometimes it's because of the managers and players, but that is all transitional as they come and go quite often.

Going back a few decades...it used to be Leeds and Tottenham, " lucky " Arsenal ....and of course, United (for many reasons).

For the most part, I don't use " hate " rather call it .....teams " I love to beat ".

However, it was often because of the ownership of a club, rather than controversial players.

I genuinely feel sorry for fans whose clubs has been butchered, or asset-stripped by speculators ....or idiot millionaires, with more money than sense.

Today it's....West Ham (a bit) and still Tottenham.

Pompey?.... I've always been " numb " to the subject, but I suppose most of all, now it's pity, not really hate.

Life will be tough ...in the Conference next season.

While much of what you say makes perfect sense, the OP asked about clubs. It is quite possible to hate a club without hating every one of the individuals that follow it

The dirty f.ucking skate ba.stards. Same as anyone who's actually from Southampton.

Other than that there's a few that annoy me.

Arsenal I dislike cause their fans are arrogant plastic ****s.

Derby for the play offs. Cardiff for their fans. Reading cause they're an embarrassment of a football club.

Oh and anyone that doesn't support their local team.

I don't hate any club per se but I do have a dislike for ManYoo and certain sections of their fans. The club suffered a catastrophe in 58 but I feel that they thrive on it and many fans feed on that and seem to expect glory because of it.

Skates........well sometimes it would be rude not to...again the fans rather than the vile stinking club.

I not keen on Chelski it all stems from when the Ruskie put his money in, the wife and I were on holiday in Tenerife and we got freindly with two couples and the blokes were Chelsea supporters. One of them got a phone call telling him all about the money being put in and he became a right pratt singing and jumping up down with songs about how they were loaded, for that alone I have a dislike for them.

In principle I dislike all 'gloryhunters' therefore Man U top my list !

I simply cannot understand why people discard their local team and latch on to a bunch of arrogant 'superstars' just to be associated with so called 'success' !

Gets on my wick, that does !!

Ah, but they never say that. There is always a family member, a friend of the family, a special someone who ingrained that specific love of a team that they have no ties or proximity to who just happen to be the most visible clubs at the time of their formative years.

Hate:

Pompey: Obviously

Franchise FC: A disgusting club that is a cancer on our game

Dislike:

QPR: Guilty by association with Redknapp

Reading: "Rumble sticks" - enough said

Liverpool: Always the victims, it's never their fault

Grudging respect for:

Arsenal, swimming against a sea of petro dollars trying to do it the "right way" (FFP wise) and constantly getting in the top 4 when they have no right to considering net spend
