Best place to buy watches in Dubai?

Just taking in a few days rest and relaxation in Dubai and would like to buy my better half an Omega watch. Any recommendations on decent places to purchase said watches. The shops at the Mall of Emirates are more expensive than the UK! Tax free discounts don't appear to apply any more!

Thanks for all the amazing responses :-) I can't believe Dubai Phil passed up this opportunity?! Anyway, back home in the UK and watch-less unfortunately. It seems the Dubai Tax heaven and savings for luxury goods is not quite what it used to be. The best deal I could negotiate was about £200 cheaper than the UK price - which for me wasn't worthwhile. Still, had a great week relaxing in the sunshine.

And um yes, this place is rip off central these days, rents in the big malls are so high that the prices are more than UK on most items these days. (We do our non-food type shopping when WE travel!)

 

Even Duty Free is now a rip off (I bought a Canon EOS in April & saved 15% buying it in a Dubai E-Tailer Times Square rather than DDF or a big Mall)

 

But fwiw, you didn't ask about Golf or Golf equipment so I actually would have had no idea where to send you

Sorry matey didn't see this post until now!! Not that I could have been any use to you as I don't possess a watch, and the most expensive one I've bought Mrs EoA was about 200 quid!!

 

Seems like gol and petrol are the only cheaper things out here nowadays.

I would much rather have those ads than the one I am getting saying increase your golf stoke by 20 yards all the time. Thought they were meant to have one of these intelligent ad system that brought up ads regarding your browsing history and as far as I can remember have never been on a golf site in my life
