Lazlo78 Posted 2 August, 2013 Share Posted 2 August, 2013 Armitage Shanks talking toilet again Personally i hope this one is true, I won't really think we're prem till one of our players rapes someone That would really tarnish the image of the club. It's just one of those things in society that is technically not illegal, but frowned upon, like wiping your nose on a train seat.
pangy Posted 2 August, 2013 Share Posted 2 August, 2013 In a decent team he would be awesome Just because he was average at QPR doesn't mean he is pants,QPR were beyond poor last season and at times he showed serious potential in a team that seemed to of given up by January If I was sure he was not going to get done for rape I would have him here all day long as I think he would be decent for us Unfortunately he is on £70k a week, which may well be out of our reach in terms of wage and that may be the biggest problem of all

It must of been hard to be motivated in the QPR team that was rock bottom of the prem when he joined in January
Saint Mikey Posted 2 August, 2013 Share Posted 2 August, 2013 Armitage Shanks talking toilet again Personally i hope this one is true, I won't really think we're prem till one of our players rapes someone The day we had a player sustain a cracked skull for acting like a bellend in a nightclub - I knew we were going straight to the top. When you have that calibre of player, the Premier League is the only place to be...
Saint Mikey Posted 2 August, 2013 Share Posted 2 August, 2013 Just out of interest what are you basing that on? It must of been hard to be motivated in the QPR team that was rock bottom of the prem when he joined in January How much motivation do you think it takes to be in the starting XI for a Premier League team that has about 4/5 players that could play in your position? Not to mention other factors of improving your career, or that you've spent your entire life being motivated to reach a level that a very small percentage of participants ever reach? Sorry meant to quote Colin's post...
Colinjb Posted 2 August, 2013 Share Posted 2 August, 2013 Fair question regarding his motivation. Just echoing the previous thoughts regarding his choice of moving to QPR over a Newcastle team who were in European competition at the time. Coupled with his current legal issues that puts his current standing as a bit of a dilemma for me. I do not in any way doubt his ability, it is unfair to judge that on his time in that train-wreck of a QPR side and I do feel we need another striker. I would be wary of signing this particular player though.
Saint Charlie Posted 2 August, 2013 Share Posted 2 August, 2013 Anyone who thinks we are interested in Remy clearly has their head up their arse in terms of how much squad harmony is valued by Cortese and Saints. That is all.

I would imagine QPR was sold to him on the basis that Arry was bringing in all these players to steer them to safety etc etc, Fernandes seems to be very ambitious as well and with a lot of money behind them I could see the appeal, plus they probably offered double what Newcastle would pay. The rape claim is dodgy ground as we don't know the facts,he could be 100% innocent/guilty but the British always assume the worst so in everyone's eyes he is guilty until proven innocent I reckon anyone that comes to us will instantly be into what we are looking to achieve and will want to play as a team as the team spirit seems great here, motivation at this club doesnt seem like a issue to me
LostBoys Posted 3 August, 2013 Share Posted 3 August, 2013 Unlikely I cannot see Mr Cortese giving you know who a brown envelope - sorry brown carrier bag- in addition to any fee. I thought Remy was on big money at QPR and may be headed to Pentonville.

Batman Posted 3 August, 2013 Share Posted 3 August, 2013 While Newcastle went into negotiations offering him certain relegation? You could say the same about many players Why did Ramirez sign for saints? Oh yeah, we offered him too much money. How's his work rate and availability ? Professor Posted 4 August, 2013 Share Posted 4 August, 2013 Not likely. Cortese has made some poor transfer decisions, Forren for example, but Remy would be a bad choice for practical reasons as well as moral ones. Buying a player who might have to face a criminal charge and who could then be convicted, doesn't feel like the Southampton way.

Saint Garrett Posted 5 August, 2013 Share Posted 5 August, 2013 Banega and Wanyama are different players - we're still being with linked Banega despite signing Wanyama. Not really seen us linked with him since Wanyama went through. And yes they're different players but they still play in the bottom 2 CM positions. Banega isn't a Ramirez type of player. Saint Charlie Posted 5 August, 2013 Share Posted 5 August, 2013 Remy wouldn't even fit with what we need. All the other strikers we have looked at are more 'lead the line no 9' types. Remy is not a reliable team player.
