Bad Wolf Posted 31 July, 2013 Share Posted 31 July, 2013 Not quite Saints related admittedly and not sure of the details but Bournemouth supporting mate just texted me to say they've got Andrew Surman. Good luck to him. Always seemed to give it his all when he was here.

shurlock Posted 31 July, 2013 Share Posted 31 July, 2013 Think he would have still been a squad member if he had stayed - dont think we would have ditched him as early as Hammond, Sharp, Chaplow et al.

DanW Posted 31 July, 2013 Share Posted 31 July, 2013 I re-signed him to Saints in FM2010 when I got us back up in the Prem and he was a solid squad player for our relegation battles. Always liked him.
SaintRobbie Posted 31 July, 2013 Share Posted 31 July, 2013 Shame he left when he did. I think he'd be a squad player for Saints still. So much potential and legged it too early IMHO.

Fitzhugh Fella Posted 31 July, 2013 Share Posted 31 July, 2013 (edited) He runs like he has shat himself The standard of comments is improving I see - he's a good local lad, with a solid family behind him who are Saints fans. Doubt they would relish a stupid comment like yours. He was sold against his wishes to bale us out when we were staring administration in the face. He is a footballer with intelligence and I think Bournemouth have got a nugget here. Hughton is not a purist hence this move. Turkish Posted 31 July, 2013 Share Posted 31 July, 2013 I remember some div in the Itchen when Surman was injured and sitting there with his bird and his dad shouting 'oi Surman, that's the best game you've had all season' in his broadest farmers voice then looking round laughing presumably to see who else was laughing with him, about five people told the fat t*at to shut his gob. Local lad, good player and nice fella, not really why someone would feel the need to abuse him.

Leicestersaint Posted 31 July, 2013 Share Posted 31 July, 2013 A very good player in his day - I saw him playing for Norwich and he was the best on the pitch. My recollection is that he didn't really want to leave but Saints needed the money - goodness we were badly run in those days. He is a true Saints fan and a local lad from Bitterne as I remember. I wish him all the best.

Bet there's a few Bompey lads getting their knickers in a twist over signing a "faaarckin Scummarrr". Good luck to Drew, always gave his all for us and was our best player by far in that relegation season. If he'd been more talented he would be definite captain material for us now. Saint Bones Posted 31 July, 2013 Share Posted 31 July, 2013 Top Lad - Came and said Hello when he was in Perth touring Australia with Wolves . Called out wearing my Saints top and he trotted over for a couple of photos and a chat... I thought he always gave his all for us and like previously mentioned would be interting to see how long his Saints career would have gone had we been more finanically stable .
