Weston Super Saint Posted 22 December, 2008 Share Posted 22 December, 2008 Marcus Evans is a new one on me. And maybe the most realistic one, since most people have said all along that a potential buyer for the club isn't likely to publicly state their intentions before they have a deal signed sealed and delivered... um pahars Posted 22 December, 2008 Share Posted 22 December, 2008 didnt crouch pay over the 60p mark? if so i doubt he will want to sell at 24p,even 54p would be a big loss.i know he has stated that he will give his shares to the right person but who is the 'right person'? does he mean the 'right person' that will get rid of lowe and improve our club or the right person who will get rid of lowe and reinstate crouch in the hot seat? I certainly think it would be: a) Someone who would get rid of Lowe, b) Someone who he thinks/hopes will improve our Club, and c) Not necessarily gives him a job. I don't think for one minute that Crouch wants Lowe still involved in this Club, in fact I reckon it probably runs seeing the Club do well a close second!!!! But I think his days in the hot seat are over, as I think he feels pretty worn out & demoralised by the whole experience

I am not sure that Crouch really saw his shares in Southampton as a money making acquisition. He is worth many millions & whilst I am sure that he would not be happy to lose money on them, he would see 24p as a price worth paying if the club prospered as a result. If someone came in with real ambition and the resources to match, then i actually think he would hand over his shares for nowt.
SW11_Saint Posted 22 December, 2008 Share Posted 22 December, 2008 One thing to be willing to 'talk to serious investors', quite another to be proactively seeking new investment - in the way Sheff Weds are, and we are patently NOT!
Amesbury Saint Posted 22 December, 2008 Share Posted 22 December, 2008 But I think his days in the hot seat are over, as I think he feels pretty worn out & demoralised by the whole experience But is he still trying to find a positive future for the club? If not, he might as well sell his shares.
