krissyboy31 Posted 27 July, 2013 Share Posted 27 July, 2013 We've been rumoured to have been chasing him all summer and have thought he's the perfect fit for Saints. Wages may be the problem, hence why other clubs have looked at a loan deal.

So far Isgrove is 20 and never played a league game at pro level. At that age Sinclair had done far more and has a proven PL record earning himself a move to the Champions. Lokky_saint Posted 27 July, 2013 Author Share Posted 27 July, 2013 Isgrove could prove a jem like Shaw last season, but it'll be a gamble starting with him... Doubt City would want to sell or loan Sinclair, as I imagine with their foreign influx they'll be hard pushed to keep their English players to satisfy domestic player requirements, but sure do hope we can lure him in as he's exactly what we need - someone with a bit of pace and PL experience, who's keen to impress both club and country managers. pingwing Posted 27 July, 2013 Share Posted 27 July, 2013 1/4 of the wages and no real fee then yeah give him a shout, especially with the option to buy after a year (and still not pay him a man city wage). Chances are that wont come off though and he'll take the bigger wages at west ham...
Lallana's Left Peg Posted 27 July, 2013 Share Posted 27 July, 2013 Not keen on him. Don't think he is particularly better than what we've got and don't see the point buying players on that basis.

Chicken With A Banjo Posted 27 July, 2013 Share Posted 27 July, 2013 I thought the reason we went off him earlier in the window was due to a serious shoulder injury he picked up which he won't recover from for quite some time. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2319484/Scott-Sinclair-Manchester-City-receiving-treatment-blood-clot.html

hutch Posted 27 July, 2013 Share Posted 27 July, 2013 I saw him 2 weeks ago. Worst player on the pitch. No first touch, no football brain and no final product. Apart from that the rest of his game was poor. I hope we steer well clear.

Apart from that the rest of his game was poor. I hope we steer well clear. Clearly had all of those qualities when he was at Swansea. You don't suddenly become a bad footballer unless your name is Forren. He clearly made a mistake moving to Citeh (apart from the money) and his career will be resurrected by a move. He clearly is not that bad if Everton, West Brom and others are trying to get him as well as us. Martinez and Clarke are no mugs when it comes to realising talent. Quite hopeful that with Jake already being here he would see Saints as a good option. Surprised that he slipped through the Saints Academy net being from Bath. S-Clarke Posted 27 July, 2013 Share Posted 27 July, 2013 Dunno, it's the only time I've seen him play. Can't really make such a strong judgement in that case tbh. By all accounts, he was swanseas best player on their return to the PL. If he had just had a similar season at Swansea and we were linked to him, I think the general reaction would be ''wow''. He's a good player, who has completely lost his way whilst chasing the $$$$$. We can bring him back to earth.

I do hope we steer well clear, both Lallana and Puncheon are better players. I've only seen Ramirez on the telly, and haven't seen Isgrove at all, so I can't speak for them. I think all he was saying was that you can't fully judge a player's ability after only watching one game. One might think that's not enough time to form such a strong opinion. Personally I think it'd be a good signing if on loan or quite a small transfer fee.

Saint Charlie Posted 27 July, 2013 Share Posted 27 July, 2013 How much of Lloyd have you seen? I have no idea who is better but you seem pretty certain. Seen very little of Lloyd, but he is a rookie who is showing promise. Sinclair has played over a 100 league games and put in performances leading to Man City buying him. Who knows what Isgrove will become, but currently you would be hard pushed to suggest Sinclair is not at this moment a better player, surely? Sour Mash Posted 27 July, 2013 Share Posted 27 July, 2013 How much of Lloyd have you seen? I have no idea who is better but you seem pretty certain. Well on that basis half our squad might be better than the Barcelona team, as we haven't seen enough to judge them? It's a pretty fair assumption to make, that based on the information we have at our disposal, Sinclair is currently a better footballer than Isgrove.
